Dublin Hotel??

I have managed to get some well priced flights to Dublin but am now struggling to find accomodation.
I have looked at recomendations that have previously been posted but even the hostels seem to be charging a ridiculous amount of money.
If anyone has any hints or tips for decent priced rooms i would be very greatful, i dont mind if its not smack bang in the centre but would like to be fairly close.
Thanks

Just come back from taking advantage of 1p flights to Dublin and stayed at a hotel on outskirts of city. Tram outside hotel takes you in for 4e return. Rooms £44 per night (with 44% discount for 4 nights or more) Hotel Glashaus, or Tallaght Cross Hotel, across the road, was only £38, same discount terms. HTH.0

I have just returned from Dublin. I stayed one night at the Travelodge in Ballymun, just 10 mins by bus from the centre of town. Nice hotel, clean and fresh. Just don't have the breakfast! Cost, 60 euros per night.
Stayed at the Academy Hotel, slap bang in the centre of O'Connell st. Top place to stay! Very nice rooms, food was good. Cost, 139 Euros per night, worth it in my view.
Use the hotel comparison sites. I found Laterooms VG!0 -
My brother and his girlfriend just stayed in the Academy Hotel on a 2 night special - 2 nights bed and breakfast with one evening meal plus a bottle of bubbly, box of chocs and a basket of fruit in the room when you arrive, all for around £220.
It's still available direct from the hotel website http://www.academyplazahotel.ie/specialoffers.asp Special Offers - celebration package. The Daily Mail
