A very good friend of mine organised a fabulous day out for me, so we left my car on her lovely clean block paving driveway. We returned late at night but on awakening the next day they noticed that my car had leaked oil all over their lovely block paving drive. They called me, not to have a go, but to warn me that my car was badly leaking oil and they didn't want me to break down. I am horrified and cringe everytime I think about it. Now i've bought the wine and the chocolates but any ideas on how to remove the b.......... oil! Everyone I've asked so far have just raised their eyebrows and made tutting noises, that really helps............ Any advice pleeeeeease

Hi sweetsoul, this happened in my last place (husbands van) and the only thing that removed it was that acid stuff you get in B&Q or homebase , it is for cleaning patios, youhave to be very careful with it though. I wonder if vinegar would do the same thing because that is a kind of acid too...0 -
A product called Gunk available from any good car accessory/spares shop will break down and dissolve the oil, which is then washed away with a hose pipe. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Can't believe there are so many helpful people out there. Thanks so much for all your hints and tips. I'll give them a go and my friend will at least see that I want to rectify the problem. Cheers to all xBeing powerful is being like a lady.....if you have to say it you ain't!0

I do not know if anyone has mentioned it but cat litter left on the stain for a day and then brushed off is supposed to be very good."This site is addictive!"
