Center Parcs Costs?

Hello all,
I've been looking at all the reviews of Center Parcs, er, parks for some time, most of which seem to say the same thing - it's great, but can cost a lot of money.
What I want to know is how much? What extras are charged for, and at what cost?
I've not found the info on the CP website, nor on any newsgroup or forum that I could think of.
So, how much is a bit of archery? Is the quad biking worth it? How much does a bike cost? Are there differing prices midweek and weekend?
Please, let me have as much info as you've got. I can take it!
Thanks in advance ;-)

I don't know if this helps but we just booked centerparcs in holland for a week in august.paid around £360 ..where as centerparcs at Sherwood forest was over £1,000 for an economy villa for 4 of us...I know the centerparcs website for europe gives prices for bikes and activitys...have a look at https://www.centerparcs.com and look at the ones in the netherlands..I don't know if this helps but may give you some idea...I think you go to activities and then arrangements..It's in euros but might give you some idea of prices....It's more affordable to go to Holland then UK...I would'nt pay over £1,000 for 2 adults and 2 children to go to sherwood forest for a week and then pay for all the activitys..0

The thing with Centre Parcs is that it is execellent if you have a young family, that is to say, if you just want to go to the swim park, then that is included. But.....if you have teenagers that need to be entertained then forget it, it will cost you an absolute fortune. The eating places years ago used to be good and fairly priced, now like everything else just a ripoff. We enjoyed our stays there, but our kids were young and swimming was all they wanted, but we used to look at the price of the different activities and we used to say the we could never have afforded many of the activities, just too expensive.

I went to thetford forset last october for 5 days and i does cost a fair bit, we hired bikes to get around on which was about £36 each, prices for drinks at the bars for are about the norm though the food is dear, the swimming pool was good as it free to use and open from 10am-10pm, but as said the activitys are prices though, don't expect a cheap break, everything cost money, lots of money!0

Hi we went last summer to Sherwood.
We booked bike hire and a couple of Fathers Day activities and a spa session (VERY good).
To be honest we made use of the free facilities most like the pool and children's play areas.
We went thinking that we were going to spend a fortune however we spent very little.
The main thing we purchased was bread as there were ducks EVERYWHERE in fact they woke my little one up every morning!0 -
I have a nine yo and a 7yo and they still get plenty of fun with the free activities so this was the first time ever that we paid extra for anything. We went in half-term to Longleat and they both went to archery and flu-flu golf (I'm not making that up!) which is a nice little game of archery through hoops in the woods.(About £18.00 total for two activities each for 2 kids) We also did 'fun' ping pong on the smaller tables for £1.00 per go. These tables were never booked up whilst the large professional ping pong tables were. We also did outdoor bowls in the snow which was a highlight of the holiday for sheer silliness.(£4.50ish)
We nearly always cook in our lodge as my dh and I really enjoy the chat whilst we chop and the food tastes much better. We had one meal in the Grand Cafe which was lush and one burger type lunch at the American place which was blah and expensive.
We take our own long lasting logs for the fire (1/3rd of the price) and a case of wine. We all ahve a happy, happy time.
You get the brochure to pre-book activities a few weeks before and you can get the kids to make their choices then. Mine got one activity on me and used pocket/holiday money to buy the ping pong.....I am very tight. We take our own bikes but I'm not going to bother with mine next time as I've susses out which lodge is cheapest and close to the pool.
We go back at the start of July. We live right by the seaside so this is a real break for us.Katie.0
