This is a my capsule wardrobe. I LOVE IT!!!
in it are as follows
2 pairs of jeans, 1 skinny 1 bootcut
1 pair of cropped black trousers
1 jersey dress
1 print tunic, 1 jersey grey top, 1 shell grey top
1 white t-shirt, 1 print t-shirt, 1 sparkly vest
1 blazer, 1 mac
1 pair of heels, 1 pair of pumps, 1 pair of silver sandals, 1 pair of birkenstocks, grey big handbag, lots and lots of scarves, belts, braclets, necklaces
3 vests, 1 maxi dress, 1 pink cardi, 1 white short sleeve cardi
1 white linen trousers, 1 navy linen skirt.
My colour pallette is grey/bit of black/pinky/purply/lilacy.
This capsule is my spring summer, but quiet a few bits are carried over to winter. Also not pictured is black leggins, long shirt, black cardi and loads of other accesories. This is my perfect wardrobe. it took me years to get to this level. I had a really huge problem with buying random stuff and a wardrobe fit to bursting.
So come on people, tell me about your capsules, or maybe we could help you build one???? This by far is the most moneysaving thing i have ever done:T and one of my proudest achievements moneywise
Love Sharron

Love the slide show.......I daren't show you mine just yet, think we'll need a "Share & Shame" thread too!
I have spent some time over the last few days sorting out - to the extent of having 2 or 3 bags for the charity shop and a heap of stuff for Ebaying, but I've probably still got more than most people!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I just did a quick footwear count....23 pairs (including clogs & slip-ons)....plus 2 pr Converse, 2 pr going-out shoes, 3 prs walking shoes/boots, 4 prs ankle boots (winter work wear), 1 pr cowboy boots & 8 pairs of knee bootsOh, and 2 pairs of trainers for badminton!
I am getting better though - I've just sold 3 pairs on Ebay, have 2 more pairs to put on & have put at least 3 pairs into the charity bags!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Wow! Sharron that's amazing!
Are you a person with a professional fashion background?
Looking at it now from the point of view of a person that has a wardrobe of clothes and nothing to wear, I can see exactly how it must work, because most of your stuff compliments the rest so you can mix and match.
Do you really resist impulse buys now?
You are well ahead of Gok and his crew if you've been doing this for years. What a pity you didn't get in with the TV show idea first:rotfl:
Bit daunted by your comment, it took years, although every journey starts with a single step etc etc !!
Thank you for inspiring me!!0 -
Thanks for inspiration Sharon. I doubt if I'll ever get as far as you though.0

Bronnie, no apart from a brief spell working at next, no fashion background at all. Just a love of clothes, looking nice and a little bit of fashion. I have read every book about the subject. When i say it took me years, i mean years to be comfortable and have the confidence to stop impulse buying. I had a wardrobe full of size 12-18 clothes and nothing ever colour co-ordinated at all. I am now also a sahm so my wardrobe is very casual, but in my pre-capsule wardobe there was 12 suits, and tons of going out clothes that never saw the light of day.
Start small, i started with the stuff in the current wardrobe i.e jeans dress etc. I just built on it. It's about understanding your clothes and making them work for you and earn their keep.
When i was watching gok and his 24 key pieces, i was thinking 'sorry gok, i had that idea first' lol
Floss, that is a lot of shoes, and yes i saw your 8 pair of knee high boots!! Do you wear them all? Obviously not at the same time, but regulary??

I occasionly impulse buy, but only if it fits in with my wardrobe pallet. Last week i went to new look to replace my black leggins, a long 'trendy' shirt caught my eye. Bought it, brought it home and it fitted in perfect with my capsule. I wore it the next day with leggins and gladiator sandles (cheapo one from primark, won't invest here, too on trend, don't think they will be around next year) I think if i couldn't impulse buy my wardrobe would boring, but i never panick buy anymore (this is where most of my mistakes happen)
Hope that answers your question BronnieSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -

I do wear most of the shoes - I work in an office & have to wear a suit for work, so need shoes/knee boots for skirt suit & shoes/ankle boots for trouser suit....and I have "funny" feet so can't wear the same pair 2 days running or I suffer & get blisters, so usually change footwear when I get home. Also, we go walking a lot, so the waterproof leather boots, older, comfy-but-no-longer-waterproof boots & lighter-weight walking shoes are used at weekends & on holidays. Then there are the casual ones for wearing with jeans or for going out............ If its any excuse, I have had some of them for years, in fact my fave black knee boots will be 9 years old this October!
I know I don't need to buy any more for years, but I have just replaced my old M&S wedge mules ( they were 5 years old and all stretched!) for some Clarks ones off Ebay....and bought a brand-new pair of low-cut Converse-type plimsolls in a charity shop as my others have a fleecy lining more suited to winter!
I've just taken loads of photos of the Ebay stuff that I will list tomorrow night, and am about to bag up the charity donations to be taken to the local shops in my lunchtimes this week.
Then when I have done my ironing at the weekend, I will scare myself by taking photos of my (extensive) wardrobe!Methinks I will be getting rid of more stuff soon, and I haven't yet got a sort of colour theme going.... browns & blues seem to be predominant though, with a bit of grey, green & pink thrown in for good measure!
And I've just had another scary thought - do I have to sort through all my accessories when I've done my clothes?? HELP!!:rotfl:2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

YES accessories aswell please!! Can't wait for the photos!!!! If it helps i often hang my accessories with an outfit/top/ so that i remember to wear them. The next time i launder it i will add a different necklace/scarf so that i keep it fresh looking.
Bye for now SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
Keep thinking about this, having almost cleared my wardrobe, will finish tonight, my priority is my holiday in 10days, so my thoughts are on my holiday capsule wardrobe , restrained by my 15kg luggage allowance!0
