It is mainly to pass data without wires.

Now it is becomming more like "infa-red" i've seen bluetooth adaptors to plug into your tv so your mobile can be a remote control, you can get a bluetooth remote control car also.

You can get bluetooth printers, so i can be upstairs with my laptop and print out to my printer downstairs all with no cables.

The basic features are to pass data and have a bluetooth headset (gives me headaches) and to transfer data from phone to PC without wires.

As everything, it will get more and more advanced soon.

I connect to the internet on my laptop via my bluetooth mobile, using a 0845 number ISP (which is included in my inclusive minute tariff)
