Santorini

Options
Can anyone help? We're looking for a good standard hotel/apartment with good food, a private balcony and good views of the caldera . All the things I've seen so far (having checked TripAdvisor for recommendations) have been honeymoon places that charge an arm and a leg.....but of course, the honeymooners say it's their 'special' holiday so appear to be immune to the cost. We don't want jacuzzis or a king size bed.....something about 150 euros a night is enough for us to pay. Have you stayed at such a place?

why stay over that side its too expensive even to eat out
We just had a drink in a bar with a caldera view and for 2 soft drinks and a coffee it was over 13 euros
Stay in Kamari and hire a car and you will save yourselves a fortune
Look at the reviews for the Arion Bay at around 45 euros per room per night, 30 euros a day car hire and a terrace with a few steps into a pool its fantastic
Plenty of good an cheap places to eat with in minutes walk
I said I wasnt going to recommend it an more because its getting hard to get in now
    CANT BEAT IT

Forgot to say you will also avoid the cruise crowd it gets very very busy over the caldera side from June to September
Last tiem I couldnt wait to get out of Thira with only 1 ship in and some days it gets 3 or 4 ships in
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

We are planning to go in May/June next year, before the school hols and price hikes!
Does anyone know if the weather is nice then (I don't like it too warm but would hate it if it was windy/rainy).

Hi Saveapenny, what is the cheapest airline to santorini - I live in Durham area and do you book the hotel through an agent or direct? Thanks
    Titch :)
