I think its between npower (my current supplier) and EON (formerly powergen but I don't know if they are accepting new registrations). Therefore I expect I am tied into npower unless I get the meter changed which I can't!
hi, i havent actually attempted to switch yet, scottishpower didnt raise my location as an issue tho and im in darlington! co durham! (small world)
after talking with npower they seem to believe that my night heat units should go on my night tarrif, as it stands they are going on my heat tarrif which is a penny more per unit. only my afternoon boost should go on my heat tarrif according to them so they are sending a boffin out to look at my meter, what i intended to do was let npower fix the issue with my meter then re evaluate the possibility of jumping ship to another supplier. Id be gutted if scottish power couldnt suppkly me as they look very reasonable and on my math about £16 cheaper per mth than npower on my usage0 -
Hi,
I've had a look into Economy 10 regions for you to help point you in the right direction.
E10 is supported in these regions from these dates:
Eastern Electric - 01/04/1996
Hydro (Scottish) - 01/04/1996
Manweb - 01/04/1996
Northern Electric - 01/04/1996
Norweb - 01/04/1996
Southern Electric - 01/04/1996
Scottish Power - 01/04/1996
Yorkshire Electric -01/04/1996
01/04/1996 is a default date for any code in the elec industry for market start up (deregulation) so any Supplier who was originally based in the above will have the ability to bill the tariff since they have always had it. The problems comes for the Suppliers that never operated in these regions who would have never originally built a billing system to deal with (and have to update costing money and time) e.g. Midlands Electric never had E10 or Supertariff so they would have a system that would not be able to bill it at dereg point. If that makes sense?
That may help you enquire further.
That doesn't mean Supertariff but it does mean they have the ability to support a dual MPAN meter with heating bursts outside of night alone.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

hello all, I'm in the position of receiving a very poor service from EON on Economy 10 and would like to change suppliers. I find the situation with regions and suppliers to be very confusing. I am in Suffolk and assume this is the Eastern region. Can anybody let me know who definitely supplies E10 to this region (other than EON).
By the way I would not recommend EON to anybody since they have not actually read our E10 heater mater reading for over two years. They keep sending us strange bills that say we are in credit then ask us to pay large amounts otherwise they will set the 'courts' on us! What a shower.
Anyway back to the question - who supplies E10 to Suffolk?0
