Pays to read then! Seems to be a lot of postal work for this internet account, with Egg everything was online not a single letter. I only read the bit about Security Details have to be in Caps after I had filled them in lower case, but the helpline said it would be OK so long as legible, here's hoping.

Whoops, read about the black ink but didn't notice capital letters.
    Good job I wrote capitals.

I've had a performance opening this account with Coventry.

Easiest account I opened was with Norwich & Peterborough...no paper work involved whatsoever. Well, except for the login details which arrived in two different envelopes. Password in one, user ID in the other. Good security eh? Only flaw was...they arrived in the same days post!

Yep, webid comes in a letter, you should get it soon.

Been with Cov some years now, easy enough to set up, never had problems logging in, or with availability etc, (and tend to log in every day as my current account is with them as well).

So I am still not too sure, when/how do you get the Web ID as per the OP? I am in the same position having posted off my security details, which they say to allow 3/4 days to process, but there is no mention of receiving a Web ID. They only say they will not acknowledge receipt of the security details.

I had the same problem. I therefore clicked on Forgotten Web ID at the bottom on the login page and my Web ID came through by email. I needn't have bothered as my ID came in the post the following morning anyway.

Coventry's login setup is a perennial pain in the bum.
I've never had a problem. I have had accounts of all sorts with them for ages and consider them to be probably the most efficient and helpful savings institution of the many I have used.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying that I'd "consider them to be probably the most efficient and helpful savings institution of the many I have used", but I've never had a problem either.
