Robin Hood Energy - do they actually exist??
Options
As Ebico have now moved to Robin Hood Energy, I thought I'd make some enquiries. Unfortunately, RHE never, ever answer the phones. I've been on hold for 20 minutes several times and have now given up. Which is a shame as I really would benefit from the no standing charge tariff.
It's all very well having this tariff available, but who can access it??

Firstly you have to steal some electricity from rich people and give it to the poor....0
-
That must be what they're out doing then, as they obviously have no one spare to answer the phone....0

There have been many complaints that they don't answer the phone in a reasonable time and I have also found this to be true - they just don't have enough staff.
Also they say they "aim" to answer emails within 24 to 48 hours but after two weeks waiting for a reply to a complaint I am still waiting for an answer from them.
What ever possessed Nottingham City Council to start an energy firm I can't imagine as they seem to not have a clue how to run one!
Also their tariff now seems to be as expensive as British Gas for me so I have returned to Eon, who do know how to run an energy company. (I have no connection to either firm other than being a customer).
In defence of RHE they are not the only energy firm with a bad reputation - there seem to be at least a dozen others with a similar reputation.0 -
The no standing charge tariff is with EBICO you need to contact Ebico or go through the Ebico website.

I don't think they do! I've been working overseas so it was only on my return this week that I discovered (via a letter from SSE) that they had parted ways with Ebico. No correspondence whatsoever from Ebico. I've been trying to call RH this week: annoying 'muzak' and wait times in excess of 35 minutes. I've decided to research Birmingham-based E Energy and also Bristol Energy.0

Yes, I understood the no standing charge was with Ebico, but thought I would have to go via RHE. As it is, I've signed up via Ebico's website. Could be the biggest mistake of my life, but hell, we'll see :rotfl:0 -

Well they have sent me my first bill, and are demanding payment, but I cannot pay by the options they offer apparently as the amount owed is too small.

Still on hold listening to Brandon Flowers - I can change, perhaps I will!
Edit: Just got cut off! :mad:0 -

Is it necessary to put this on every Ebico thread on the board?"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

I haven't, but you seem to be in the process of doing so
