I love rosemary chicken, the chicken thighs are ideal or you could use the drumsticks

I just cut up a few thighs small, skip the capers and use anchovy paste and I serve with cous cous or brown rice

Here's another site which is pretty inspirational

That rosemary chicken looks fabulous!!! right I'm going to go through all the links and suggestions and make a menu for the next.....how ever long I can.
At least then i can get in from work and know exactly what i am doing and get back into a routine from xmas.
I have put on half a stone of over xmas and I'm mortified so if I'm feeling hungry id rather snack on some Weetabix than the celebrations.

  • Blitz cooked veg and 'hide' it in the gravy/sauce in the pie. You can do the same thing with pasta sauces and they'll never know it's there, it even works in Bolognese!!!

    Two thoughts.

    1. Will the children eat uncooked vegetables - carrot sticks etc. Sometimes it is the texture rather than taste they do not like. Also some small people like to be able to separate out the flavours rather than find something they do not like hidden in sauce or gravy.

    2. Otherwise blitz the cooked vegetables into pasta sauce etc. Not great from the roughage point of view be at least they get some of the vitamins.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • neither will eat raw veg, but me and hubby love raw carrots etc
my eldest ill eat veg its just onions. ds 2 wont eat any veg!! ive tried and tried with him, but i still put it on his plate hping he will see his brother eating it and try it for himself?
Il try blending veg up in a pasta sauce, probably next time i make piri piri chicken il blend the sauce up with the peppers and onions.

Well, I was going to have chicken with slurp noodles. But...but I couldn't get Mrs Lurcherwalker's lemon dal recipe out of me mind.
    So I made it.
    Scrum diddlyumptious.
    Thanks Mrs. LW.

  • Try Mrs LW's lemon dal. I had it with me scorched value pittas.
Was as good as any lentil dish I order from the Indian.
  • Meat and Potato Pies

    Shortcrust Pastry
Boil some diced potato for a couple of minutes'
Cook minced beef and chopped onions in 1/2 pint water with a good splash of brown sauce salt and pepper and a shake of vinegar.
roll pastry to fit small deep pie dishes or 7 inch pie tins
add diced potatoes to the top of dish - season well, sprinkle mince and onions on top sparingly top with more diced potatoes. You should end up with a deep pie approx 2 to 3 inches deep. Season again and add a desert spoon of water then top with pastry. Cook slowly for about an hour. These can be frozen,
1 Kilo of mince, 2 onions and loads of potatoes make about 8 small pies and one 7 inch one depending on size of tin

If your children like pizza then just one sausage sliced up into buttons and quickly fried off makes a fun topping for home made pizza. In fact you can use up almost anything on a pizza base, If you have any dried yeast and plain flour you can make up a batch and then 'contain' it in a lidded container in the fridge. Despite it being in the fridge it will continue to rise unless contained in something with a tight-ish lid. The upside is it tastes so much nicer after a long slow prove in the fridge and the kids might enjoy making their own pizza
with scraps of left over food. Even one mushroom and one tomato sliced up thinly makes a lovely topping for a pizza. Good luck, it is do-able!
:hello:  please play nicely children !
