Local credit unions..
Other than these, who cannot offer a normal banking service. I can't see it either.
Unless someone comes up with a way of using one of the larger banks systems.
In the way that M&S have done with HSBC.
So in effect, like First Direct. it is just another arm of one of the big five.
Not a new player in the market place.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
So basically you work for H'fax which is how you know its going to happen and you're giving you're employer free advertising by claiming it's going to be better than an existing claim with absolutely nothing to substantiate this.
It may be better or it may not - time will tell - I guess its good you love your employer so much that you're bigging up a scheme that's not even started yet and disparaging the competition.
I don't work for Halifax, and yes I do enjoy my current job, not that it is of any interest to you. How dare you assume and judge.0 -
For your information I was told about it by branch colleagues the other week when I went in to the branch regarding an online banking query. I get on well with many of the staff there, they are always helpful and always seem to go out of their way. This is probably why I praise Halifax as I think they are a good bank. They were a bit vague but mentioned about it was being rolled out to customers and all they knew was it invovled special deals and cashback......
Right so I contact a family member, who is employed by said bank, and clarifies what I was told. They just told me to watch this space, there will be offers and promotions that come to you as a customer which when you use your debit card will also earn you cashback.
OK?
So kindly stop badgering me, stop sending personal insults and incinuations. I wish I'd kept my mouth shut.
Wouldn't mind but half the pancake makers on here probably don't even use Halifax so wouldn't be eligible for this anyway.0 -

I wonder if this is the same as the cash back debit card Halifax released in 2004 and then cancelled later on?Credit card customers are used to being offered perks such as cashback to encourage them to get out the plastic - but until now banks have given little incentive to use a debit card.
That changed today as the high street bank Halifax unveiled a current account which offers 1% money back on all debit card purchases, estimated to be worth around £100 a year. The product is the first of its kind on the market.
The account, known as Moneyback, is part of Halifax's continuing attempt to boost its market share compared to the "big four" banks, Barclays, Natwest, HSBC and Lloyds TSB, and to that end, the company has promised further customer incentives in the new year.
The cashback offer will only be available to customers who put more than £1,000 a year into their account - which means most customers will have to make their Halifax account their primary account in order for the cashback offer to apply.

It is bad enough that politicians and church leaders encourage people to move bank accounts, but it is positively scary that even the official MSE site says the same. The issue isn't about moving banks accounts, it is all about getting the best deals. This might well involve doing business at various banks.
Nobody would dream of buying all their food in the same supermarket, or all their clothes in the same shop, or all their petrol from only the same brand, and only ever go to just one pub. So why stick to this concept of "I bank with X" when it is so easy to pick the best deals, and have more than one current account? Apart from that, it is prudent to have funds in more than one current account, in case one of your providers gets into trouble (examples: Northern Rock, Natwest/RBS/Ulster IT issues).
Other than that, moving current accounts does nothing for you if you are unable to manage you financial affairs. You'll just get more black marks on your credit files.0 -

EDIT: found the terms https://www.cashbackplus.natwest.com/Content/Terms
Beware, this is a temporary offer only. Not good enough to tempt me away from my trusted 3% interest 123 with its cashback DDs. But should be quite good if you for some reason you have an eligible account. Seems 'normal' Select customers are not eligible.Eligibility
You are eligible for this offer if you have a:
Select Silver Account;
Select Platinum Account;
Black Account; or
any personal current account as a NatWest Private customer (excluding Basic Accounts, Step Accounts or current account mortgage products), and you join Cashback Plus before 11 October 2015.
We will refer to these accounts as "eligible accounts" throughout the rest of these terms.
These terms will apply during the offer period which will end on 31 December 2015 and will start from:
20 July 2015, if you already have a Cashback Plus account; or 3 business days after you join Cashback Plus.
From 1 January 2016 you will continue to earn Rewards on your eligible cards but this offer will no longer be available.0
