Slimming the bin! I was horrified when I heard the other day that the average household wastes up to £60 per month.
Fast-forward a coulple of days and I notice an opened packet of ham past its use-by, a mouldy apple in the bowl, and some deicdedly dodgy salad in the bottom of the fridge... Yes, I have some way to go!Sealed pot challenger#1677

Less waste in the bin (bags of carrots, my nemesis)
Been keeping daily track of what we spend and on what, and am about to do my first quarterly spreadsheet with tables and charts to highlight high spend areas. Already noted a few areas out of control.

Keeping proper records - I waste time and money each year by not keeping all my taxable receipts in one place, this time I've set up a folder with expandable sides and am 'determined' to use it to avoid the January panic of that 31st deadline for self-assessment. As I'm only just over the tax threshold, every receipt is precious and deserves more than being shoved in plastic bags in a corner along with the other papers I always imagine I'm going to sort properly. Bring on the paperless society - PLEEEZ!0

ISA opened (and funded with saved £1500)
Car Insured (£43 saved on renewal quote)
Broadband moved (£120 per year saved)
Mobile tariff tweaked (£50 per year saved)
Weekly budget sheets printed
So now onto the less exciting stuff - the filing system and food inventory .... I may be some time!!

Pay off all Debts £10,000 / £10,000
Grown Up Emergency Fund £6000 / £6000 :j
Pension Provision £6688/£23760 -
Clearing our debt via our Trust Deed. That will take us up to the end of the financial year - when I'll set a new goal! Yay!
Otherwise, similar to other posters - stop wasting food, toiletries etc. And meal planning of course!0 -
