Newbie sticky thread formal request

I understand the new policy of simply having one sticky thread at the top of each board - containing links to others.
However, I would like to make a formal request (supported by Crabman and many others on the parking ticket forum) that the Newbie thread below is permitted as a stand alone sticky thread also.

This is the most uptodate and comprehensive information thread compiled by Coupon-Mad which has been steadily upgraded and altered to keep up with the new trends

I don't frequent the parking tickets board as a rule, but I agree with the sentiment being expressed here.
If all the 'stickies' on each board are to be consolidated into one, fair enough - but please make the title of that sticky clearer, so that people know what information is in there.
That's really not coming across in any of the stickies on my 'regular' boards.
Even if you named the single Sticky "Newbies, please read this first!" (or whatever wording is deemed acceptable), that might be clearer.0 -
Well, personally my suggestion would be that each board have 1 or 2 of the most vital threads stuck, and then an index thread to lists all the other useful ones.
I think for most boards that would be a good compromise between streamlining things and still allowing the most important things to always be 1 click away on that boards 1st page.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I support the request in the OP of this thread.0

Hi 4consumerrights
I agree with that and have stuck it for the time being. Please bear in mind, though, I don't have the final say and this may change.Could you do with a Money Makeover?

I agree but the "policy" seems to be to hide the useful stickies created by regular posters away leaving only those created by the site team in place as separate stickies, which are often now not the most useful stickies on the subject matter in each sub-forum.
I would appreciate a response to the above today because, so far as I can see from this forum and others, stickies created by MSE personnel are being left in place as such whilst others created by the rest of us are simply being swept up by "policy".
The stickies concerned were deemed useful enough to be made stickies originally so I really would like to know from MSE why they have suddenly become less useful now, "policy" simply isn't a good enough excuse.
This "policy" change is simply illogical and without further explanation from MSE across several forums is starting to cause some ill feeling amongst many regular helpful posters.0 -
Hi
No, that's not the aim at all. All current stickies should be in the indexed stickies, whether by MSE Staff or forum users. On some boards there are very important threads by forum users we absolutely want people to see.
As I've mentioned on the other thread we're not finished yet. If you could give us some time to finish off then hopefully you'll see what we're doing.
Could we continue this on that thread?
