CuddlyMarm- that doesn't sound like the voice of doom at all. Rather, you're planning how to make the best out of a potentially bad situation.

Talked to hubby about it all last night, and we went through the preparedness survey in the LDS link provided earlier on in the thread. We didn't score too well. So, we've drawn up a list of short term priorities, which we are going to tackle first. Then we can look at more long term prepping.

We've decided to work on having 15 days worth of food and water in (for us, 5 cats, 1 dog, and the chickens), and getting fire prepared.
Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.
    Baby due July 2018.

I went into local cs last week and found a nice floral cotton sundress, my size and actually went below the knee as well. Spent the grand sum of £3 on it and it fits nicely . Even DDs like it (but I did not tell them where I got it so they think I got it in York and paid quite a bit for it. :j

  • Not sure if it qualifies as BOB kit, since it'll be living in the car boot, but I just ordered this.

BTW. What's a "cs" elona
  • Taken a page out of Cuddlymarms book and done everything outside in case we get any of the thunderstorms here this afternoon. Also made sure that I know where the matches are for the candle lanterns which always have tealights in them ready to go and got the gas cannister and single burner down off the shelving ready to assemble if needed. Cooked at lunchtime, despite the heat so supper will be cold things from the fridge. Dog has been walked and polytunnel watered so we'll see what happens with the weather from now on. If I'm honest we really could do with some wet weather, the birch trees in next doors garden are shedding leaves like it's autumn now and there isn't a green patch to be seen in the whole village either. The only plus side to the heat is that my buddelia is covered with bumble bees and different sorts of butterfly all supping the nectar from the flowers, and this afternoon I saw a Comma Butterfly on there, magic!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

I have had a pair of comma butterflies and tortoishells galore in our garden not to mention a marbled white and we were lucky enough to spot a chiltern blue butterfly at the weekend we also watched a red kite hovering in on its prey at a barbecue we were at on Saturday, who needs technology when you have beauty like that nearby
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
