Can I remind everyone that the exchange of personal details and asking other members for items via MSE, is strictly against the rules of the site,
as you should read the T&Cs of a comp before you enter it, so you should read the rules of this site before you use it

No joy I'm afraid. I had a peek in Tesco, but both Shreddies and Cheerios had a different promo. Then I got home and found that I had some Shreddies anyway, but that also had a different promo. Hope you find one somewhere. If you don't, I really hope they are kind to you and let you off having to produce this.

I understand that MSE rules do not permit the exchange of names and addresses etc., not even by PM.
However, I see that there are threads on MSE where members of MSE can for example exchange their twitter handles, so that they can follow each other on twitter.
Would it be a breach of MSE rules if someone read this thread, then contacted Worriedmummy on twitter to say that they had said cereal packet and would exchange addresses outside of the forum?
(Not that I have the required cereal packet and am intending to do this), just wondering if that would be in breach of MSE rules. If it is, then why do MSE allow threads with for example twitter user names?0 -
Sos Glad, I wasn't ignoring what you said, I just didn't think it mattered as I came back to say I couldn't help anyway. And there is still the thing I said about freecycling which means worriedmummy might get it sorted without breaking any rules. Sorry if it read that I was undermining you - wasn't intended that way.

Hi Glad,
I really don't mean to be rude, but can you please point out exactly where it says this? I really don't want to break any rules, so I want to know exactly which part I need to be reading.
I am aware that it says not to share sensitive personal data, but I've only shared my address which is not classed as sensitive.2012 wins = £933 :j

Why can't I give something to/buy something from someone on the forum?
The safety of our forum users is paramount. For this reason, we can't allow anyone to exchange their personal details either on the open forum or via private message, however honourable the intention.
This means we don't allow selling, trading, exchanging, or swapping, or giving gifts. Nor do we permit links to your eBay auctions, or other forms of advertising.I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Hi
a thread asking for something which would involve swapping personal details is against the rules in the first place, and such threads are usually deleted
the only reason I left this one is that it seems someone has already gained the OPs address, so the damage is done, and I thought it a good opportunity to point out the MSE rules and remind people of the danger of giving such details to strangersI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Thanks for clarifying Glad.
If I were you Worriedmummy, I would spend some time trawling round a few small corner shops, as they might have a slower turnover of stock and might therefore still have an old promotional packet on their shelf. Good luck in finding one.0 -
Just wanted to add a thought for anyone who is thinking of passing details on for sending stuff - I know its not exactly the same but I fell for this early doors with an unpleasant person on old style. This did end up costing me a lot of money (long story) and it was a hard lesson to learn but since then I have learned to be very selective over who I share my real details with. Please be careful who you decide to send your address too - its probably not that hard to find if someone really wanted too but you then leave yourself open to the bad as well as the well intentioned.
Take care out there :cool:0
