Afternoon everyone:)Just taken DS back to Uni and can't believe how I feel. I was properly distraught when he went in October:obut taking him back this time was so different. I'll miss him, but all his friends came out to grab his stuff from the car and help him unpack and then he "let" me hang his clothes up and make his bed (Sorry it's a mum thing;)) and then me and MrLala went. But I feel so much better because he's so happy and at the end of the day thats all we want for our children :) So thanks to everyone who told me it would get easier because it does:T:T
He also went with the biggest stash of food and stuff, not like last time when all he wanted was alcohol! He's learnt you have to buy food, and it's far cheaper to raid the garage:rotfl:
Working now and then going to have a good old catch up later, and just swapped my days off next week so I can have Wednesday off and hopefully the Boots sale will be then;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

    Tenth Anniversary
Afternoon, I noticed in t's that the packs of lamb chops marked at half price on sel had no price per kilo on the actual packaging. Therefore no way of knowing if the correct price has been charged at till (also no way of getting dtd) I wonder if they will do this with all meats/joints as a way of stopping dtd on them? Reading back I don't know if I've expained it very well!
Off topic, Anyone in Pres/on Lancs, know of good, cheap accomodation for my uni son from September, please? Non smoker, very small alcohol intake, polite, looks after his room & possessions.
Hope we have some glitches soon, I have scanned a few things in t's but everything correctly priced. (scanner working after 8 months of not, long may it last).

Hi Josie, did the chops have a weight on the label and a total price or just a weight, could be in breach of TS regs on labeling if not got both if it did then we will all be doing some mental arithmetic in the butchery isles:rotfl:

  • Afternoon all,
I was quite proud yesterday when I used my slow cooker for the first time, was also the cheapest meal I have ever made as I used beef from my whoopsies the other day which was 18p, but after multibuys probably worked out to be about 4p, I also used one giant potato from some that I had got for 13p a big bag. Bought 3 bags at the time, now wish I had got more. A carrot, some mushrooms (ashamed to say not whoopsied) and the stock I bought. Very cheap and it wasn't too bad, the meat was soft and lovely. I want to be more adventurous with my flavours, but it is hard as my family are very fussy eaters. I am quite fussy too and therefore find it hard to find relatively simple recipes.

izzy65, as far as I can remember it had total price & weight but not weight per kilo. hth Wish I'd taken more notice but My local has never had dtd opportunities on meat, doesn't stop me checking though! I live in hope.:)

The house is a total shambles - Christmas decorations in a heap in middle of room :( shredded cardboard everywhere from Mr P & his travelling scratching box - an Everest of Ironing :( & well I don't care - it will get sorted eventually when we feel better :)

Thank you Patty for thread liking the ELITE tradition ;)

Big hugs for snap and fourp hope the kitty cats have been looking after you. Hope you are 100% soon. :A

    Morning all

Wow, well I think I missed an entire thread
Things all got a bit hectic before Christmas as I ended up admitted to hospital. Essentially I only had a cough/cold/ear infection but my white cells had dropped to virtually nil with the chemotherapy so I had to have IV antibiotics.
Reaaaallly hoping the same doesn't happen this cycle. My blood levels were already borderline before my chemo on Wednesday so the boys and I are tucked up at home trying to stay away from the germs

We had a busy Xmas and New Year and the little ones were spoilt rotten. My living room resembles Toys r Us :o.

Hope you're all keeping ok x

Hiya Logie nice to see you. :)

Glad you have posted to update us all :)

Never mind your living room resembling Toys r Us kids are born to be spoiled ;)

Well my brief good news is over. I wrote a few days ago that my mortgage company had offered me a deal to consolidate my arrears and I was going to be about £300 per month better off. So I though great this will be the year I sort out my finances. Then get up this morning to a letter with the new mortgage figures and the payment will now be £160.00 more per month not £300.00 less.
So really upset and when I phoned them they just said the figures I was given were wrongly calculated and the new figure was correct. I would not have done it if I though I would be worse off. I am struggling as it is. And would you believe the department I have been dealing with is called "Tool Box"!!!
Anyway my younger brother just called me about something else and he said if I get the figures over to him he will to the amoratisation figures and help me write to them.
I was off to Portugal for a break with my sister tommorow but have called her and cancelled it as I cant go away snd spend money when this is hanging over me.

Hope you get it sorted - seems a vast difference so hopefully they have got it wrong.

Important information! If you have the dreaded card through the door missed delivery from the post office you can arrange to have it redelivered etc. A number of ways or collect it from the Post Office I had such a card on the 29th of December saying 2 items.

So I went online and arranged for a redelivery the following Wednesday but only 1 was delivered, I have since discovered if it’s 2 items you have to submit it twice on line to get both items.

So I now have the missing slippers! I suppose they have their reasons but to me it seems a bit daft, but to be fair to the Post Office it was stated but I failed to see it, anyway I just thought this might be of help to someone in the future.

So crazy - I have always collected them but will try and remember if I ever want to rearrange the delivery

Great to hear it was so much easier this time round - think there will be lots of people waiting to see if the MrShoes reductions happen next Wednesday, I am carless at the moment so I will have to take my shopping trolley on the bus
