Hi i bought a tesco value vaccum cleaner a year ago. It was ok until things kept falling off it. But now there is a problem with the wire at the plug end it sparks and smokes when i plug it in. This seems very dangerous to me. I just wondered where i stand if i return it i still have the box but dont think i have the receipt. Would the guarantee be run out by now? Its annoying as i cant let my kids hoover now lol as its too dodgy. :)

I would say it probably is over the warranty but you will need to check that.

Dependant on whether a moulded plug or a old school one it could be the wring inside or the socket itself.

As the cost is small it would probably be better getting a new one.

As for the kids not being able to do the hoovering, lmfao

    It could well be dangerous.

Don't mess around, just cut the plug off and fit a new one.

You mean you bought a tesco "vacuum cleaner" which is not a "hoover"

"Hoover" is a leading brand name and I wouldnt be so pedantic except you've used it in your title which they could take issue with

You need to be careful throwing around brand names especially if its very negative

Please take this advice - if you don't know what you are doing find someone who does to fit the plug!

So dispite this you are still using it..

Only you will know if its still in guarantee, from the reciept you will have got.

I guess your kids are pulling hte plug out via the cable, not getting hold of the plug.

Or is this a wind up ???????

I can't believe that anyone would get their kids to do the hoovering. It's totally unbelievable - give them a dustpan and brush it's far safer.;)

You're still using it, despite it smoking and sparking?

Surely one of them is capable of cutting the old plug off and putting a new one on a bit of wire
