When I phoned to accept she asked if we had any allergies as she'd be doing an assortment of rolls etc....so I assume it's a cold spread (or maybe thats something different again :D)

I've got loads of cellophane I've saved from whoopsied bouquets of flowers so will tart the biccies up with some ribbon and was going to buy some flowers or a poinsettia to go with them.

A tip I was given about Poinsetta by a lady in Mr T this week. She said always cover the top with a carrier bag when buying as as soon as they hit cold air they start to die. She says then you can keep them from year to year. Just back from Mr T and got a £86.98 shop down to £14.98. I admit I did get a set of Allessi serving spoons so that took off £42.51 but I also used a £5.00 helping hand, a £2.00 mailing voucher, 4 x A&T Ariel coupons, 4 Ariel car coupons, 4 Ariel mag coupons, 1 Ariel stain remover car coupon and a Ariel stain remover mag coupon.
I got 4 x Ariel x 33 liquitabs so only paid 50p for each one and only paid 49p for the cutlery.
So many thanks to the person who sent me the car coupon, the person who sent me the cutlery coupons and all on here for your tips.
I also got some porridge and long life milk for the homeless collection thing and am popping back tommorow with some other bits and bobs.

  • Evening all

Havent had time to catch up with the thread for more days than I'd care to count. How does life keep getting in the way of shopping ??? Just back from a lovely night out with old friends who I've not been to see in ages so absolutely shattered after long drives on both days.

Iamsohappy - so sorry to hear of your friend. Any loss is terrible, but sudden loss you've got to cope with the shock before anything else. My thoughts are with yours and your friends family.

So long as they are not an MSEr :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I would take them, though I would posh them up a bit, bit of cellophane and a big bow :)

Iamsohappy - so sorry about your mate, so hard at any time of the year, but at this time of the year - awful. I just hope those poor kids can start to enjoy Christmas again at some time in the future, sending out hugs for you and his family.

Oh so sorry to hear about your friend. Losing someone so young is unbearable. I speak from experience:o
    Thinking of you all.

Rude boy so sad to hear your news too. But you know what they say...when one door closes another one opens. Good luck:)
