But we're 'singletons' because we aren't in a couple! And not everything we talk about specifically relates to be a parent so it shouldn't be on the mums, dads, grandparents et al board!

Singleton (lifestyle), a self-description of individuals without romantic partners, particularly applied to women in their thirties introduced in the novel and film Bridget Jones's Diary

Oh God, shoot me now! I fit that description- 30's, without a romantic partner)- but hate the mere mention of Bridget Jones :rotfl:

I'm not sure what I am!!

I live alone, with my dog.

So on official forms I am single.

I do however have a partner, although have only been seeing him a month so I don't want to jinx it by posting on the couples board just yet!

Also, I don't particularly want you nosy lot knowing the status of my newly captured bloke, based on which board I post on :p

I have a bf but he lives 30 odd miles away and we see each other every 2 weeks.

Technically i share my flat with my flatmate but he's practically moved in with his gf now so mostly i live alone (thankfully he still pays his share of rent and bills!).

I'm probably another one that doesn't see the point/value of another board. For what its worth I live in a 3 bed house with one cat. I also get visited by 2 other cats. Don't need 3 bedrooms but have this due to a relationship failure and can't be bothered downsizing/moving until I have the mortgage paid off.

Thanks for all the replies so far!

IMO a single parent with a child is a nuclear family AND a singleton. :) But I don't think a household comprised of a single person or couple without a child is a family so I like the idea of a board that won't be overrun with TTC and pregnancy and school threads.

Since I haven't answered my own thread, I live with Lulu in my own city centre apartment in Yorkshire. As a singleton I have previously lived in shared houses with both friends and (initially) strangers.

What a silly board! I'm single (except when I'm not) and have 2 children with me 99% of the time.
