Congratulations EverTheOptimist :) what exciting news :)

Happy November everyone. I'm not going to get off to a very good start as I'm meeting friends in Manchester today for lunch. Not seen them since March so I'm quite excited :) have a lovely day all.

Congrats ETO- thats fabulous news :)
  • First thing is first: Congratulations EverTheOptimist :D

I may or may not get November off to a good start. Got paid yesterday and haven't decided if I'm treating myself to a coffee or lunch yet... ;):o

Excluding the new 'rule' I've set below, October NSDs were mostly Monday or Wednesdays, so in theory I've no excuse for not planning better for this month!! :)

    Ok. So! For November...

I must stick to my weekly budget. I lift my money on a Friday and it has to last me all week. All shopping/treats/fuel etc has to come out of that money.

I only have 4 monthly payments: 2x dd (mobile phone and internet), rent, and my First Direct regular saver. These won't count as they're already budgeted for in the month and they're direct out of my account.

What my new rule is for November, is that a NSD counts when nothing is spent between 8am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday or Sunday. Reason being, OH will often text or call when I'm on my way home from work and ask for veggies or milk or something. That's technically an emergency spend. If we go out to do our 'big' shop either after work or later in the evening (clear a path to the reduced section please!! ;)), it's already in my budget.

If I set the 8-5.30pm rule, then...

I cannot stop for coffee/treat on way in to work
    no scones/treats during work
no lunches out or lunchtime 'stuff' shopping
no online shopping during work *cough* :o

    Good luck everyone!! :D

Well, November should be going off to a good start.

    ETO - congratulations :T

Today should be a NSD as I'm going out for a free lunch and don't need anything. As I stopped smoking completely yesterday (only had a few the days before), fags are not needed either :j

  • AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH! Someone said the F word! And we're not even in November yet!

Pass the mouldy kipper and the soggy paintbrush please, Bdini!
Someone is going to find out just how we punish naughty people on this thread!

(Notice to newbies - the F word is verboten. We do not "fail" on here. Every NSD is a gem and worth celebrating.)

sorry, sorry, sorry!!!! :D I was unaware of my misdeed, feel utterly ashamed and will never speak of such things again!! ;) (please not a mouldy kipper though...I am vegan and it would go against my principles! :D)

    Fantastic news ETO. Huge Congratulations!

I'm looking set for NSD 1 today, but will report definite figure this evening as I still have so much of the day left. I'll withdraw my monthly budget on my way home and then it's likely to be temptations bounding into me every which way! I will resist!!!!
