have been unable to post for a couple of days due to internet problems. I rang the owner of the company this morning and left a stroppy message on his voice mail...that worked as its now working perfectly.

That was before I set off to town on my scooter and got soaked to the skin in the cloudburst that came out of nowhere after six months of no rain. Had to abandon my scooter as it was sliding on the wet/dirty road and get on the back of my hubby's scooter instead (bigger wheels=safer in the rain). Got to see the doctor for free as my hubby was paying for his accupuncture treatment. At the moment I have to pay to see doc and for meds in full as the government have not paid the doctors or pharmacists and owe 100 million euros to them here in Greece!

Had a cheap lunch of lettuce, avocado (so ripe it slid out of the skin lol) and prawns which I will never buy again from the freezer shop...they tasted old.....

Didn't get changed after getting soaked as the sun came out, burnt my face and dried my silk clothes in five minutes flat...typical!

Just had a double chocolate lolly as a treat to make me feel better. All the taxes and uncertainty over this country is making me feel really stressed out and I am not sleeping at all well...not because of the stress but because my thyroid has decided to come out of its slumber and torment me with body heat!!!! You can't win...why couldn't it happen in the winter and keep me warm for free????????

Trying to get my head round the winter and what clothes I might need but its back to 38 in the shade now, after the cloudburst this morning.Going to the gym in the morning, then swimming. I help out for 4 hours a week in exchange for both our memberships for the year...its good for me :)

Afternoon all, thanks for you support

DGS seems to be ok although his dad is shocked. Apparently it happened at 9.00 last evening! How scary is that, they were very aggressive one had a knife and one a hammer. They showed no concern that there was a 3 yr old there.
Luckily he seems to be more interested in the policemen and flashing lights. Fingers crossed they catch them quickly, it seems to be more luck than anything that dd ex wasn't stabbed. I'm just thanking god they are both relatively unscathed. The police suspect they had taken something before hand.

Anyway dd has calmed down, work gave her the day off, all she wants to do is sit and cuddle her little boy.

Tried to reminder her that awful people like this are just a tiny portion of the population and most of us have good hearts.

Have a good evening all x

Didn't get chance to post this morning as I set off for work early.
I made a huge batch of chilli last night to use for packups & I've just eaten some for my tea.
I shall try to remember to watch Wartime Farm tonight whilst I'm darning socks.
DD2 phoned today, she's had a bust up with her Dad, it had to happen, lol. She's ok, fuming rather that upset, I sympathised with her.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Good morning Halight and all,

yes there is a nip in the air this morning. I felt somewhat chilly when i did my garden duties this morning. I had to do a bit of DIY on the tomato plants as they are top heavy and have grown such a lot since they were tied to supports. However, the supports arent quite big/strong enough so here was me at 7am cable ties in one hand and big leafy stems in the other. I love cable ties they come in so useful.

Halight, i love Bewdley. We dont live that far from it ourselves and the last time we went we went on the Severn Valley Railway. Have you been to Button Oak? We took the children there a lot when they were little.

Thinking of you with 'littlies' off to school. I remember my first day at school vividly. Just before dinner time i told my teacher (Mrs Eades) that i thought it was best that i went home now as Mom would be worried about me. :D My own children went to nursery so it wasnt such an upheaval for them thats not to say i didnt get upset at the first day of leaving them. I was usually pregnant at the time and was able to blame my hormones.:)

Nmlc. I hear your rant and can match them. Hubby doesnt 'do' birthdays. I gave up on giving him a card years ago. If he cant make the effort on my birthday then neither can i. Funny how he always remembers out wedding anniversary (which is the day after my birthday though). Birthdays mean nothing to him and it shows! Its funny how he always remembers his school friend's birthday in November. My husband and i are incompatible in every single way possible and when i remind him that i am not him, it falls on deaf ears. I think its called taking someone for granted (which i am sure thats something we all are guilty of at some point in our lives).

Plans for me today are just to finish cleaning the windows. I got sidetracked yesterday by extra stuff i wanted to do but i am pleased i finished everything else on yesterdays list. I need to phone to see if my Auntie is out of the hospital too. Anything else i do will be a bonus.

    Have a super Thursday all.

Yes Iv been to button oak. The first time was when I was 11 years old. That was 21 years ago. All that was there was a caravan site, A post office/little shop. And a Pub. I use to be in the Boys brigade. We use to camp not far from there at a place called coopers Mill. It was about a mile into the forest, Lovely Place. We use to all walk to the shop get get sweets.
Later on when I was a teenager. The shop had closed. So we started to go to the camp site. They had a little shop there. We use to buy cans of wood pecker cider! Id be about 16 then. We only had one each and drink it on the way back to the mill. We felt very grown up:rotfl:

I love that area I really do.

Well the twins had a good first day at school. Twin one has a girl from pre school In her class with her.

Twin two did not have anyone she knew In here class. But when they went to play outside the three of them played together.
Twin two Is the more feeling one of the two so It would have been better if she was the one with a friend she know. But still never mind.

Twin two has been a bit upset this after noon and very clingy to her mum, we have had a BBQ for dinner tonight and she has cheered up a bit. I think it was just a bit too much for her, Her lunch box was empty so she has eaten all her dinner and she had been given a sticker off the teacher that said fantastic on it. But she can not remember what is was for. Just something she had done.
So it could not have been that bad,

Evening all - my sleep pattern is odd at the moment so I went to sleep at 6am and got up at lunchtime. I'm due to make dinner now - stirfried thin steak/pepper/onions with some mini veg rolls from the freezer, and rice for DH; DH bought a bulk box of veg rolls from Farmfoods the other month and they're lovely. Got 2 full freezers at the moment, so need to list contents and figure out meal plans. I pledge to do all the mammoth loitering washing-up and wipe down kitchen surfaces before bed :) I love having a clean kitchen but it seems to elude us most days. Got some big plans and necessary things for tomorrow but I'll post those on the new thread - posting daily will hopefully keep me motivated.

    Hi all,
Been out for much of the day so not a lot of OSing gone on apart from using up the bendy veg for tea,and done chicken, mushroom and bacon in the Remoska..
I went to get my hair trimmed before we go away next week.DH stayed at home unexpectedly today as he took the van for MOT first thing-it failed :(so he had to leave it to have the jobs done :mad:and get DS to pick him up.As they were going to fix a big cupboard that they first had to transport,it ruled work out for the day-double whammy for them,no pay for today, and a repair bill. The mechanic is hopefully trying to get it all done for lunchtime tomorrow.
Picked up a couple of new Tshirts for DH in Debs sale, and another for me :o,but mine was reduced ,then I got another 50% off it as there was some stitching not caught, causing a hole at the bottom.I asked nicely for a discount, the assistants held a confab with one of them poking her fingers thru making the hole look bigger :D,the other one said oh knock 50% off. It'll take me about a minute on the machine to sew it up so I'm pleased I asked-I'm usually too soft.

Julie-how awful! Hope everyone recovers from the shock soon.

Nmlc-sadly i think quite a lot of men are like this(not all:D) and don't bother too much about birthdays/anniversaries.Being in the household with 3 of em,it is me who generally makes more of an effort, and I have to drop big hints if I dont want mine ignored.DH picked me up from the hairdressers today-I dont think he's noticed I've had it done yet :p,but DS2 as soon as I walked in said my hair was nice.
    Anyway,think I need a cuppa.Think DH can make it :)
Have a good night all x
