My OH and I both applied for one of these accounts in sole names. We both have various other sole and joint accounts with Nationwide.
Now both of the 2 reg. saver accounts appear when either of us logs in to online banking.
I have asked them to correct it.
Just giving everyone the heads up in case it's an issue for anyone.

That's very naughty of Nationwide.
Make a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office. It's a serious breach of data protection them showing details of sole accounts to your OH.0 -
I'd be asking them to:
1. Fix it.
2. Explain it.
3. Reassure me that my data is safe.
4. Compensate me for the stress of knowing they have revealed my account details to a third party.
The FOS would value an unauthorised disclosure in three figures.
The less scrupulous would throw in a back story about it being a secret account for a surprise holiday and the surprise has been ruined as the partner accused me of secretly stashing away cash when there were other priorities.
That would push the figure up.
EDIT: That's assuming it's not meant to be a joint account!0 -
The guidance on applying states:
Your Flexclusive Regular Saver account will mirror those of your FlexAccount and will be opened using the same name, or names if your FlexAccount is a joint account.
I guess if you had wanted a sole account you should have put a sole account qualifying flexaccount details into the account number field when making the original application0 -
Then if you don't both qualify under the T & C's would there be a risk of one account being cancelled?0

That is true when applying online. I specifically queried this with Nationwide as I wanted a sole account, despite only having a joint Flexaccount. I was told this could be done in branch.
I opened my sole Flex Regular Saver, husband opened his, both in branch, and I cannot his in my online accounts.0 -

Did you apply online or in branch? Please see my reply above. Not saying Nationwide are correct to display both accounts, but is it possible that they've opened 2 'joint' Flex Regular Savers -one for each of you

Hiya
I have been looking into this as we wanted an account each - queried this over the phone - but the lady could not help me. So from your posting I take it that we should be allowed to open one each. I assume it is just the one each - but that will be better than one between us
Typically confused and asking for advice0 -

I spoke to Nationwide on the phone about opening 2 sole Flex Reg Savers when only 1 joint Flex Account held, and the young man was about as useful as a chocolate fireguard  However, in reply to my secure message, I was assured we could open separate sole accounts if we went into branch, which we did.
1st deposits were taken from our joint account the day after the branch visit, and mine appeared online a few days later.
Pity our local branch closed last Friday as they were always very helpful.
Edit: yes per the T&C you can only have one (each).0 -

Both of us opened the flexclusive accounts online.
Both were definitely applied in Sole names - I've checked the screen prints of the application process and in each case only one person is named.
I await their response. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

When this was first introduced it definitely stated that account opened online from a joint account would mirror the joint FlexAccount and be a joint Regular Saver. I can no longer find this stated on their website.
We wanted 2 sole accounts and managed to open them by phone no problem.
I am guessing that what is showing on the OP's online account is one joint account which would show under both party's log ins.
Have you checked to see that both the accounts showing have different account numbers?0
