ok i've tried to update the browser to ie 9 but its gone strange
webpages are not the same size as before (address bar at top no refresh / compatibility view icon) (bottom of page no internet / protection / pop up icons etc, etc)
tabs opening up in same name (moneysavingexpert instead of google)0 -
how do you delete what?
re ie9 - try holding down alt, and check view settings.!!

as an aside - A fresh install would probably cure all problems, and it would be a good idea to create recovery discs at some point
To create a set of recovery discs:
1. Select Start > All Programs > HP Backup & Recovery > Backup & Recovery Manager.
2. Click Next.
3. Click Create a set of recovery discs (Recommended), and then click Next.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions
to disable windows defender on vista or windows 7 - from the start menu, windows defender, tools, options, untick use real-time protection, under administrator options, untick use windows defender and untick allow everyone to use windows defender, click save to save settings
control panel, programs and features, uninstall google toolbar/google update/ie window maximizer unless you need it.
start, services.msc - double click the adobe updater services, and disable it.
If you have a java icon in control panel, click it, advanced, misc - untick java quick starter, and untick place icon in system tray.
it might run better without kaspersky, you could use the free version of avast instead.
alt in IE brings up the file/edit/tools menu, where you can change the look of IE, and what happens when you open new tabs, under tools, internet options, tabs, settings.!!
