When I was shopping today with a £17 voucher on goods purchased total value 18 pounds the cashier took my receipt and voucher she said it was ok as the value of the voucher was less than original shop and they would no longer be accepting vouchers with greater amount than original shop. For example spend 50 pounds and get dtd for voucher for £55 so just a word of warning

Not saying what you said was not true. Sorry if you read it like that.
I think the woman just had her wires crossed. No where in the rules we see does it say anything of the sort. And more to the point it contradicts tesco own rule of double the difference.

Ok so now I'm worried because I should be getting a DTD voucher that's a couple of quid more than I spent. I only popped in to get a few things I use already, but I wouldn't have bought then at Tesco's inflated prices if I thought my voucher wouldn't be valid! What do I do if they refuse to take the voucher?

I have just spent the largest of my vouchers - £42ish - no problems :j. I spent it on a 'normal' food shop, and it made me realise how much I normally get for my money when I shop at Tesco, compared to the little pile of shopping I've been getting for a similar price on a 'DTD' shop. Presumably some people are buying these rip-off items on a day-to-day basis :eek::eek:. No wonder Mr T rules the world!

So just back from my shopping.....I was a nervous wreck because of the new T&Cs and the sales assistants didn't help.

I handed over my voucher and the young girl looked at it and said she would have to get someone to have a look at it, she didn't have a clue bless her, she even said we never get trained on anything. So the lady who took it looked like she was none the wiser either, she asked a supervisor who also knew nothing about them, she said she has been off for 3 weeks and knows nothing about them, I said it seems none of the staff about them :p She sort of scowled at me but smiled. One of the SAs took me to the customer service desk and asked me why did you get this voucher  I had to explain to her how it works :rotfl: even then she wasn't sure, she said, so Tesco send you the money :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: By this time I was dying to laugh out loud but I kept myself together and explained that's what the voucher is for.

The customer service desk seemed to know exactly what they were and I thought uh-oh! But she was really nice, took my old receipt and scribbled, kept my voucher and gave me my new receipt without scribbles! :D The SA who made me laugh said ohhhhh that's a lot of difference then, I will have to get some shopping done :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Was probably one of the funniest shopping experiences I've ever had.

Oh and btw if someone could please help me out. Which receipt am I supposed to enter into the pricechecker, I was given 2, a recalled one(the one from the till) and the one from customer service? I'm assuming it's the one I got from customer service when I paid?

ohh she only gave me the re call one which i paid on? i used this and after entered it said thank you etc ??

You could try them both - lol - see what happens. No idea tbh.

I was hauled over to the c.s desk on my first ever one as they did not know what to do. But only got a receipt from the c.s desk.

I have just got back from spending my £112 voucher. I put it towards a shop of £150.

It was well funny. The cashier looked visibly shocked by the voucher amount and had to call for a manager to verify. The lady then called store manager who came and had a look. He laughed and said "is there any more of the Merlot left?". New i was fiddling them but i just waltzed on through.

Just entering new receipt into Price Check now Value is again over £100.

Sorry have to go out so haven't read the last 10 pages - however not seen it mentioned yet - this is a DEAL :D

Bought it yesterday and got DTD back today - wooo!

    Thanks!

Today I "topped up" one of my multi-recycled vouchers with three Nivea moisturisers to take advantage of this Glenfiddich offer tomorrow! :D
