Halifax ISA Transfer

Me and my parents all have Halifax ISA's - sent off a form to transfer some funds into them from other ISA's (they are already funded
aswell and have been open many years)
My father got a letter asking for confirmation of:
Nationality
Country of residence
Occupation
Source of funds
seems strange as the ISA is already open with them and he has had a current account for many years
do we just send them a letter? do we need to prove the above (i.e. passport for nationality)?

Chances are that if he's held his accounts with the bank for many years, then they were opened before the current Anti-Money Laundering legislation came into place (and that's the reason for them asking for this info - to comply with the AML legislation). However, they are now required to hold this info for their customers.
For your other questions, they will tell you if you need to provide proof. If the letter says to take in a passport, then do so. Otherwise, there's no need.
Either send them a letter, phone them up, or go into a branch.0 -
Unfortunately, Pops probably opened his account when all you needed to open one was some money. It doesn't say this in the money laundering (identity) leaflet - they want to confirm specifically his date of birth so take a passport as the other post says. Bills and other letters won't cut it.0

Thanks
yes he did open his first current account a really long time ago
But along with the transfer request I asked them to redesignate the account into an ISA Reward 4 - I did this last year too and they didn't ask for anything
anyway sent him off today with some documents to take to branch0 -
In most cases you can phone up to provide this "know your customer" detail over the phone. Just call them on 08457 263646 and they will log it on customer profile and update the isa transfer team0
