mich_city - Any news??
My cat went missing a couple of years ago for nearly six weeks, all over xmas and new year - I was inconsolable, then he turned up in the middle of a howling gale on 3rd Jan, fine apart from being nearly 3kilos lighter, the vets think he had got shut in and the people must have been away on holiday.
Fingers crossed for you.0 -
Hi
Have you contacted the RSPCA and I think that there are other lost and found places- can't think of them.0 -
Hi
Try mymoggy.com, when my cat went missing Sue was really helpful, they also have a found cat section.0 -

Our semi-feral girl went missing for a whole week. Ended up finding her late at night (11pm) trapped in building site. The site was an extension on the house and the builders had put in the window she must have used as in-out exit. In the daytime she must have been hiding under the open floorboards (thank heavens we found her before they nailed new ones down). I'd asked the builders if they'd seen her too!
We found that late at night the road noise is quieter, so we could hear her when she called back in answer to us. You might want to try going out late at night too. Her eyes shone in the torchlight and we were able to find out who owned the building and call him out to rescue her.
Another one of ours went missing for a whole day - trapped in a garage. Again, we heard him call us when we went out about 10pm. Another went missing for nearly 3 days. When he came back he was minus his collar and VERY wary of humans. That was about the time the schools had broken up for holidays and we think kids had grabbed him.
Hope you find your's0 -
RSPCA have a national no for lost pets-it's in the phone book and open 24 hours. They keep a list of lost and fouind.I have put up ads in local pubs and petrol stations/local schools and nurseries (kids are very good pet detectives)/local vets and any local animal charity or sanctuary. Posters put up on local dog walk trails are also useful-dog walkers are round and about more than most. Also try pet shops
Good Luck0 -
My female cat went missing for 7 weeks about five years ago - not usually the type to stray. We think that a woman down the street had taken her in and wouldn't let her out (her collar was found, stuck in this womans fence). Then one day she just came home. She was well but had lost her voice and had been a very vocal cat. I posted flyers to every house in the area an searched every night over 3 mile radius. I know how you feel -it was awful!
I wish you all the best - she will more than likely return, probably when you have given up hope! But I agree with the other poster - search at night, you can hear them much better.
good luck lxYou cant have everything; where would you put it?Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.280 -
You could also try the 'missing pets bureau' and putting an ad in local newpaper, mine offered this free.0

Little "darling/monster..." went wandering for 3 months and only came back that we saw after a neighbour from the street that backs on to ours managed to get hold of her to look at her collar (which she promptly slipped and did arunner) and knew where she came from, he brought the collar round and told us she'd been hanging round with his cat for the entire time and because she's v.skinny (her natural build - pure bred witches cat;) ) he started feeding her. As he was telling us this she wanders down the middle of the road, rolled over and demanded food, but she usually goes self catering for at least a couple of days at this time of year, luckily now she's older she can't be bothered staying out all night, (usually turns up just after midnight and is gone by 6am though)
Hope she turns up, have you tried putting notes through neighbours doors asking them to check shed and garages, we've phoned somebody who's done this to let them know where their cat was, he cat wasn't stuck anywhere he was just on the pull and had been hanging round our garden for 2 days (3 girls cats, all complete tarts)0 -
I have an update!
got a phone call today from an animal sanctuary to say my cat had been brought in this morning (they got my details from micro-chip)
I can't believe, she went missing last July!
They said the person(s) who brought her in said she'd been stray (in our area, but not sure where exactly) and 'every tom, !!!!!! and harry' had been feeding her, they brought her in as they were worried about her in the cold weather...? (why not over winter?)
I cant get my head around it as she is in perfect condition, her white bits are extremely clean, she certainly doesn't look like she's been stray for that length of time... anyway, we have her back, thats all that matters! :j
She was never the friendliest of cats, unless it was on her terms, and is now doing some hissing and spitting, especially at the other 2 cats (have kept them apart as much as possible for now) the younger one was only a kitten when she went missing but is now bigger than her... I can see some fur flying until she gets her positon as 'top cat' back..
it certainly was a 'good' friday for us!0
