  • Oooh my first grocery challenge! Ive always had a shopping budget but over the past few months its been slowly creeping up and up so here i am :)

So can you put me down for £200 - this is for 2 adults and 6yr old DD (and a bump but neither of us are keen on food atm lol). My month will start on 1st when i do my next food shop.

    Good luck everyone :)

Just been to Aldi - am trying to swap as much of my shop as possible over to that and Lidl (but Lidl are going to be closed for February :(). Filled a whole trolley full and started to worry but it came to just under £50 - which is about £30 less than I'd have spent in Sainsbury. ;)

Suppose as I started spending on my Feb budget today I should post my target

Going to push myself a little and try for £240 this month, stocks in the house have reduced loads so know this will be a challenge for me. Amount inc all food (all meals inc the pack ups, any take aways, meals out etc) toiletries, cleaning stuff etc for 2 adults, 2 sons, 2 dogs, fish, lizard and hedgehog (don't think I have missed anyone)

    Hi all,
i started my Feb challenge on Friday and i`m pleased to report 3 nsd`s so far since the shop on Saturday.
I am trying my hardest not to go into any shops at all, just walk past and don`t even look in the windows lol.
I will ned to get some porridge today or tomorrow though, don`t know how i managed to miss it off the list as i buy it almost every week.

I`ve just made a dessert which is an adaptation of a slimming world recipe but my version has more sugar in and i find it really yummy.

Put some digestive biscuits in a bag and crush them to crumbs and pour into a dish, make up a jelly with only a quarter of a pint of water and when cool mix in a large tub of fromage frais, pour over the crumbs and leave to set in the fridge. I found a tin of blackcurrants in the cupboard and put these on the crumb first then added the mixture. I used blackcurrant jelly too and i can`t wait for it to set to taste it.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Just off to get food for the hens but it means driving past the supermarket and the car automatically turns in at the rounderbout. Think I'll have to put blinkers on the headlights. The hens have earnt enough money for their food with a little bit over so I may just treat them. They quite like digestive bics.
January food 175.00 spent 181.60 oops nothing left. £4000 challenge/3384.49 left

    Hi.....

Count me in again for FEB. I have just posted my final spend over on the January thread. This month is back to a 4 weeker so i'll stick with £60pw making a grand target of £240.00 for the month.

    :rotfl: :rotfl:
oh yes.........and do they also like to share with their very kind mummy????:D :D (I've heard that excuse before)

Sunnyday - that recipe sounds luverly  , will deffinately be trying that one, thanks for posting.

Well, another NSD for me today, but I'm still on my January challenge until Friday, so I really ought to be posting on there......but I miss you guys that have all moved over :o:o .

I'm struggling to keep up with both threads at the moment....everytime I finish reading one, someone has updated on the other, so I go flying over there to read that one, then someone updates on here again  ....my OH is getting fed up, can't get near the PC!!:rotfl:

Oh well, 'spose I'd better get off and get some work done (unless someone else has updated whilst I've been typing this, then I'll have to start going round in circles again!)......right , sorry, I'm waffling.......I'll get my coat!
