Has anyone got a recipe for this?

I love Lillibet's idea of giving this as a gift.

    Recipe for mulled wine:

Place the following in a pan: 1x 750ml bottle red wine, 150ml ruby port, 3fl oz brandy, 3fl oz triple sec, 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 cloves, 4 allspice berries,1 bay leaf, 2 tablespoons brown sugar.

Bring to a simmer but do not allow to boil. It is now ready to drink but can be kept warm in your slow cooker. Serve with slices of orange and lemon floating on the top.

PS Don't really know what an allspice berry is. Does anybody else know where you get them?

    Non alcoholic fruit punch mull:

1 litre apple juice, 125ml cranberry juice, 125ml pineapple juice, juice of one lemon and one lime, 2-3 tablespoons soft brown sugar, 6 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick.

Heat slowly, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and leave for a few hours to infuse. Bring back to a simmer, remove cinnamon and cloves. Serve with slices of orange, lemon and apple.

    Cider Mull:

1x 750ml bottle dry cider, 1 cinnamon stick, freshly grated nutmeg and ground allspice, 6 cloves, 2 tablespoons orange blossom honey.

Bring to a simmer and allow to simmer without boiling for 10-12 minutes (or put in the slow cooker). Serve with orange slices.

Allspice is the dried berry of the Jamaican pepper tree, also known as pimento tree, At first glance, you might easily confuse the allspice berry with a peppercorn.

I think once you've heated it up on the hob its ready anyway and the slow cooker will just keep it warm without boiling.

    Ale Mull:

1.4 litres ale, 150ml brandy, 150ml medium dry sherry, 250ml water, 4oz soft brown sugar, 1 lemon sliced, 1 cinnamon stick, 6 cloves, pinch of nutmeg and of ground ginger.

Put sugar, water, lemon and spices into a pan over a medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Bring nearly to the boil and then simmer for 10 minutes before adding the other ingredients. Do not allow to boil. Serve in warmed glasses.
