I downloaded the upgrade then about 3 hours later i went to go on the net (pc was left switched on) opened fire fox and before it would open the browser a small box popped up askin me to (i think this is what it said?!) define a new profile or something. It wouldn't let me open the firefox browser unless i did, so i created a new profile i think. Firefox opened but without my added extras, added icons and bookmarks etc. Does this happen after an upgrade?! I just want to get back to my original firefox browser. Any help appreciated.0

When this has happened to me in the past a restart has always solved it. It should automatically use the profile of your windows user account0 -

maybe this can help:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile
or maybe someone else knows a way
my profile is in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\hoz15vxt.default
where hoz15vxt is a randomly made string of characters
when I wanted to move my profile recently to a different computer, I copied the contents of that folder and put it into a newly created profile on a new computer (but not the folder itself because the other firefox would not be looking for hoz15vxt)
If can find your old profile folder but can't get it to work, you could try copying its contents into a newly created profile - but I'm sure there must be a far easier way0 -
I've had a look at the info but ive just copied my bookmarks from IE so i think i just start again... thanks for your help tho.0
