    how did ypu do that?

also, can anybody confirm if tomtom can calculate routes to avoid congestion charge? I know it can calculaye alternative routes to avoid "toll charge" but i dont know if it can do the same with "congestion charge". Has anybody actually tried this?
  • Does the TomTom one allow bluetooth through from your telephone? Can anyone point me to a details spec? Any pros/cons? Thank you! PS - Happy New Year!

TomTom One only links to the phone for the data services, you can't call / read messages etc (even though the PC World yoof who sold it to me said that it would). I got one on boxing day and took it back on saturday as I felt those features would be far more useful.

I got a 510 from PC World which came with the free RDS traffic attachment, this apparently gives you the traffic info on the road ahead without having to pay any ongoing subs, SSP is £70 for that alone! It also gives handsfree and you can read your SMS on the nice big display.

Speaking of the display, I found the info in the status bar difficult to read on the One but it is very nice and clear on the 510. There's also no auto-dimming when dark on the One.

    Well worth the extra IMHO.

I think PC World charge £240 for the 510 and you can get a comparison on http://www.tomtom.com/products/chart.php.

    Hope that helps

You will need to buy an extra 1GB SD card (about £10) to install the maps, but then you will have exactly the same functions as the 710 for less
  • Bought! :D :rotfl: :o

What a rude bunch of customer service people they have!! They now will only honour my order I placed and received confirmation for on 1st Jan WITHOUT the free European Maps!!! They claim there systems werent working properly as too many people were ordering at once and so they don't have enough stock left of the original offer so they cant give me the maps anymore for the deal... Shame on Global Positioning Systems!
