    Good luck Ticklemouse.

I've had a sort of result from Morphy Richards so if any of you are having problems with it sticking and burning then I would ring them on the customer helpline number which is inside the booklet that comes with the slow cooker.

I rang and gave them all the details, when I bought it, where I bought it, what it is doing and how I use it. They are sending me a new slow cooker!! They want me to try this one and see if it still does the same thing. If it does then I am to ring back and report it and I am to dispose of the old one!

Apparently I am the first person to actually ring and complain too.

I dont have a problem when I set mine on low, only sometimes when its on high. Its not a huge problem for me, but its good of MR.

Mine is always on low, I don't ever cook on high with a slow cooker, so perhaps my switch is faulty and it's permanently set on high?

I think so, well worth trying out the new one and see what happens. :)

My local supermarket were selling 'Beef Tonight' (just like the chicken one) half price the other day so I bought a couple to try. I decided I'd make a stew in my slow cooker but then realised I had no stock cubes so I thought I'd try out the Beef Tonight instead, chucked it in the slow cooker and I have to say it was delicious and certainly worth while if you see it on BOGOF etc.

My slow cooker arrived this morning so with any luck will some for the others who ordered after me.

I put it on high at 12p.m. with slices pork, red, green peppers, sliced onions and a little garlic with condensed mushroom soup poured over it- as it was looking a bit lost in such a big pot I added some frozen green beans to it , but it is still only half full. :):):)

Oh good!!! ... hopefully mine should arrive in the morning then :)

Think I might get some meat out of the freezer to defrost today so I can try it out as soon as it arrives :D

Do your Christmas Pud in it it's very handy when thecooker is full with other stuff and it won't boil dry.

Is it possible to do any beef/sausage based dishes that don't require precooking? I just want something I can chuck in in the morning, go to school/work and then come home to it. I can't be faffed to start sealing meat and browning onions at 7am in the morning.

Or has anyone prepared the night before and left it on low all night and all day?

I have made sausages in the slow cooker and they come out all grey looking but I then brown them quickly under the grill while I'm doing the pasta or whatever. It's a bit of a faff but only takes a minute and the kids will eat them then.

  • I'm slightly concerned now - tonight I have ordered the 5 litre Prima one from Studio (Christmas catalogue) for about £25 plus p&p (yes I know NOW that I should have read this thread first but still not too bad a price) and I'm a bit worried it won't be big enough - 2 adults and 3 kids. Will it be big enough? I was envisaging a meal plus leftovers.
