You can't Itunes is one way only.
You need to google a free programme that gets the music off your ipod touch, there's a few around.0 -
Ive looked around and most are trying to charge. Ive found one but because im a new user i cant post a link, go to google > pod to pc > and download that, if it doesnt work pm me and i will sort you one out for free.
Hope it works0 -
as cooltt says itunes is one way. It is to stop someone borrowing a friends ipod and "borrowing" all their mp3s.
As intimated there are a number of 3rd party programmes that allow you to get the music.0 -

Hi,
I use xilisoft. http://www.xilisoft.com/ipod-rip.html
you can download a trial and do one at a time which is painfully slow, if you have lots of music but if you pay for the software you can do it all at once.
Just a bit of advice, if you copy it to the computer or external harddrive then you will always have it backed up, then copy over to your itunes.

I used an application I found on google called "expod"
I used it to take music from my ipod to my Mac (not sure if it works on a pc)
Very simple to use and is free.
Basically moves the music from the ipod to your hard drive and then you open it up in itunes and thats it, job done, your music is restored again.0 -
It's a little known fact but you CAN do it using just your iPod and iTunes but you need to change a few settings.
1. Double click "My Computer"
2. Click "Tools" -> "Folder options..."
3. Click the "View" tab
4. Click the "Show hidden files and folders"
5. Click OK
6. Start iTunes
7. Click "Edit" -> "Preferences"
8. Click "Advanced" tab
9. Tick "keep iTunes Media Folder Organized"
10. Tick "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library"
11. Click OK
12. Connect your iPod to the PC
13. Double click My Computer
14. Double click your iPod icon
15. Double click the "iPod_Control" folder
16. Double click the "Music" folder
You should now see a lot of folders named F## where ## is a two-digit number.
17. You need to drag each of these folders individually onto your iTunes library and it will copy the files FROM your iPod TO your iTunes library and it will sort out all the song and album names for you.
Once you are finished, go back and untick the "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" at step 10
Hope that helps,
NiVZ0
