I'm pretty sure the Poundland Sharpies pens are fakes, the body of the pen looks lower quality than the ones I have at home and the ones I saw in Asda today.
I bought Poundland Sharpies in November. They are identical to the ones I got in Asda before. If they're fakes, they're very good fakes.I hope they still have them in Poundland when I need more.
  • They are not allowed to sell fakes
    travelover
  • A lot of the product is imported from elsewhere, hence the lower retails than the likes of Tesco, Boots etc.
Prime example being the Brylcreme I bought the other week.... label on the side had it as imported from Poland!!

Have to admit that I'm not convinced a lot of their product that is imported is actually "legal" in terms of meeting standards.........
There was a story a while ago that toothpastes contained ingredients banned in the UK.

The Sharpies could also be "seconds" i.e. not actually conforming to the standards that the manufacturer has set, but they can still generate money from. I think a lot of the books are seconds as well - you can usually find all kinds of mis-spellings etc. in them.
  • Been in the poundland at meadowhall today, loads of stuff

Tubs of cillit bang - quite reasonably sized
    Variety of 'Pantene' products
    Variety of 'Simple' products
    Pack of 4 Colgate toothbrushes
    After 8 mints
    Cadburys Hot Chocolate
    Pampers Babywipes
Lots of household name cleaning products like Flash and Cif

Also like someone else has mentioned 2litre bottles of fizzy drink like Fanta, Dr Pepper

Bags of sweets like Maltesers that usually sell at £1.75 per bag in Asda.

I could of had a field day :)
Just me, in my own little world

  • I'm still finding jars of Hellman's extra light mayo in my local store, I have quite a stockpile in my store cupboard.

Selected items in 2 for £1 deal:

    WW Petit Pain (4pk)
WW Mini Garlic & Coriander Naan Bread (4pk)
WW Mini Plain Naan Bread (4pk)
    WW Caramel Cake Bars (5pk)

    [STRIKE]
(Think the 6pk WW Choclate Mini Rolls or the 5pk WW Jaffa Cakes were also included in this offer, but check first).
    [/STRIKE]

Other items on a 3 for £2 deal:

    WW Ginger Crunch Cookies
    WW Oat Choc Chip Cookies
    WW Sultana/Cinnamon Cookies

Thought the 2 for £1 deals were really good, but be careful with the cookies, as these might be cheaper in the supermarkets, but this depends on their current promotions. Always best to compare and contrast before buying.

  • In my local, Woolwich, South London, they have lovely Gold Light Switches (1 gang & 3 gang) as well as 1 & 2 plug sockets. The make is Super Switch.

They look fab. I have bought enough to change all mine!

Just as well as I'm decorating soon. :j
  • Chelmsley Wood store had a five box set of books titled Back of the Net. It contained the following titles:

David Beckham - My Son Ted Beckham
Alan Ball - Playing Extra Time
    Fowler
Bestie - The authorized biography of George Best Joe Lovejoy
    Kevin Keegan - Michael Hodges

It had an RRP of £36.95 on the box..

They were placed on the floor as soon as you went into the store - in the past this store has sold the boxed sets complete and also split them into single books. Not sure if I got a bargain though as Amazon have them listed at 1p plus postage :rotfl:
