I know it's hard to gauge someone's "tone" via text, but what's the problem here?
I'm amused for two reasons; (1) I have never ever dealt with a complaint of that nature in the 8 years I was in retail banking and I dealt with a vast array of issues.
(2) had I not looked up the originators guide, I would have missed it so IF you do get consequential loss from the complaint then that is where it will be a first so keep up the good work Premier and snugglepants cos this could be something significant

Here's an example of the old paper based claim form that banks used to use.

As you can see, it's the same claim form for whatever Indemity Claim is made. Consequential loss is the last box.
As I said, I would expect this is now an automated system, but it would be based on the original paper based process.
