thanks for these posts- I have been approached by one of the companies who do this- and felt their fees were pretty high for an exchange of letters-I've just started a DMP and as my main creditor is MBNA who I understand have some pretty shaky agreements, I think this would be a reasonable route to take, i.e. to ask them for the CCA. I also understand they can't start any action without letting me have a copy anyway can anyone confirm that? I've been scouring the forums trying to find the whole picture.
Thanks all!!now debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0 -

First off i'd look at writing requesting the account in dispute and request the CCA as well.... see what you get back.
Yes, MBNA is what Rankine was all about, originally (he won and changed law thus Rankine vs MBNA is referred to a lot)

I wouldn't call you cynical mate, i'd call it a good bet LOL..... you know how it is, at least this way people can just paste one link and drop the thread and leave the 'troll' or 'whoever' to their own devices without getting into a discussion......2010 - year of the troll

The purpose of the Poll isn't for people to vote on whether the 'ethics' are right, moreso the post...

Not just cynical but a little insensitive- I , until recently, had no idea how this all works.
