Decisions , I'm having the same problem, then theres music for after the wedding then, while you sign the register, then for the 1st dance aargh. Then helpfull folk suggest music that makes me wonder if they even know who I am (cmon Celine Dion??). I have found this which I would love maybe during the meal people might think it's vaguely familiar but not sure how.
Actually you can get string quartet tributes for loads of songs from Beyonce to radiohead and anything (including fleetwood mac & jimmi hendrix or the foo fighters) inbetween.
    Booo!!!

I walked in to Maid Marion by Clannad. It's an instrumental, and it's gorgeous.

We're thinking of Elbow - One day like this to enter to & Embrace - Gravity ("Our Song") to exit for our Civil Partnership

That Elbow track is fantastic, good choice!

We've got two clarsach players who will be playing an excerpt from Orkney Wedding with Sunrise by Peter Maxwell Davies. I was born in Orkney and it's one of my favourite pieces. They are playing La Vie En Rose at the end.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

    What a fabulous idea!
I didn't really want songs with words in for ceremony and i must say what a fantastic find! I hadn't even thought about that!

Thankyou so much for the string quartet tribute idea! H2B and I just went through finding several of our absolute favourites which will definitely be playing as everyone is seated!

As soon as we got engaged, or there abouts, I decided that I wanted to walk down the aisle to my H2B's younger brothers playing a cover of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D68ymfjpw98&feature=related as they all play guitar and one got a ukulele for christmas!

I want Abba's 'I do, I do, I do' but my OH hates Abba so I won't be that mean...

Think I might settle for 'Today' by Smashing Pumpkins.

I started a similar thread for my wedding last year, I settled on the bellow, Although I would have loved the Section Quartet version of Monkey Wrench by Foo fighters (the music they played at Monica and Chandler's wedding on friends :p) but it doesn't seem to be on any of their albums :( I think they do a version of everlong tho which is lovely! I'd even considered the actual foo's version of everlong coz I love it :D
I thought it would be funny to have "hold the line" by toto coz I'm always late for everything but didn't use it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfzUv09nIH4
I'm a massive bon jovi fan and lots of people suggested jovi songs but I didn't think any fitted so saved them for the party afterwards

Why is there always someone who suggest shania twain  very original :p

Thanks for all your help everyone I've got a short list of:
Concerto grosso in B minor op6 No.12 Aria by Handel (found on a CD that came free with the daily mail that my nan passed on to me - I always knew it would come in handy one day!)
Kissing you instrumental from romeo & juliet
Emma bunton - something so beautiful (lyrics here) I'm not 100% about those lyrics as might remind OH of a rough patch years ago:confused:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MyE6B1hW_g&feature=related

Erykah badu - I'm in love with you (skip past the girl talking for 55 secs) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qvRzKlRbVrs (lyrics here)
and my original one thats deffo Micheal Buble - everything (lyrics)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

  • Damm you guys beat me to it!

We couldnt agree on music, and also downloaded the Vitamin String Quartets version of Snow PAtrols Chasing Cars from iTunes. There is also an excellent piano tribute act I found on YouTube called David Sides - you can also download him from iTunes (although I am sure there are other download sites available!!!)

They are really good, and we are thinking about downloading some more of their cover versions for our reception as background music. The guests will all be thinking I recognise that, but cant think what it is!
