I spoke to the department which deals with dvd's yesterday as I had some on pre-order. The lady I spoke to advised that, whilst not definite, it was unlikely that I would receive the items I had on order so it would be best to cancel the order.
  • I have just this minute received an email from woolworths telling me due to high demand the dvd i ordered is temporarily out of stock.they will be in touch with me within the next 7 days.If i want to cancell my order i should log into my account and cancell.I will not be charge for the item until it is in stock.

Well i tried to cancell bu the website is still down

But atleast there is still someone there trying to keep in touch.

I just want it cancelled now and be done with is.

I'm one of the lucky ones. Ordered a DVD online, on 20th Nov and it was delivered on Mon 24th. I've a query about the cost, and received an e-mail saying a reply was attached to my account. Only problem, the website has been down for 'Mainteneance' for several days and can't get to the account. Phone customer services, who couldn't help. (BTW use saynotto0870 for a non-premium rate number!). Rumour is the website is offline because the server has pulled the plug, of course it could be to stop anyone placing an order.. Strange then that thier Employee Recruitment and Corprate websites are still up.
I think, if you paid by credit card (not a debit card), you can get your money back from the CC company if the goods are not delivered.
Anyone whose item has been despatched, and should have arrived by now, again if you paid by CC, start talking to your CC company.
If you want to cancel the order, write to the head office and get proof of posting (or send by recorded delivery).
No CC should be charged until the goods are despatched.

my item was apparantly dispatched on the 24th of nov (had an email to confirm this) and when i call through to the automated track service it says my item is with the couriers and is due to be delivered on the 28th of november
and the money was taken out of my account on the 22nd of november (the day i ordered it)

when the website was up it said my order was fulfilled so even if i could get on to cancel it i couldnt. I have no idea what to do?! do i go and spend £150 (i got it for £100.14 through woolies as it was reduced and got 20% off on top) which i havent got on the same item elsewhere and hope that they refund me?

i still havent heard from head office even tho the lad i spoke to said he would get them to, i'm going to try and ring them again tomorrow, :(
Is it a bird?....... Is it a plane?............... No, it's the Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmodus!
  • Hi all sorry to be the bearer of bad news but my dh is a courier and their company had the woolworths contract ( to deliver goods to customers, and stock to stores inc the uk entertainment stock ). Now note the HAD! They no longer have the woolworths contract the woolworths stock were turned away the night the news broke about woolies ( i assume woolies owe them money too!) so basically woolies have no way of getting new stock into store or out to customers. Some people may have got their orders at the end of last week as the parcels were already at the depo but i dont think you will be getting them now regardless of what woolies say! Maybe woolies are trying to get another courie contract going but i can't see that any reputable courier firm would take them on!!sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but least you know where you stand!!
