Is there an easy way to do this?

  • You can download them to text, tick all the boxes then look at the drop down menu at the bottom which gives you the options. Then set your pm's so you get an email notification of your pm's and you'll get a copy of every pm within the email in future.

Have just been trying a little program I found. If people have success with it I'll split this post off and sticky it for a while :D

    vBulletin PM Reader

When you first install it you'll be asked to create a database. I called mine MSE Private Messages and put it in My Documents.

To save your PMs to vBulletin PM Reader -

Go to your PMs page, tick the ones you want to save. Click Download as XML in the menu at the bottom and click Go to save the file somewhere on your computer:
    downloadasxmldj8.png

Or you can download all your PMs at once by clicking XML underneath:

    downloadallaq3.png

Next go to vBulletin PM Reader and click to Import XML file at the top-left:
    importxmlhv2.png

Browse to the XML file you just saved and then all your messages should be imported in:

    Note:
    • There doesn't seem to be a way to change the folders on the left. If you want something to be in a folder, you need to do it in the PMs page before the download.
  • I love sra-land :j

    Got my first lot downloaded!

Just bumping this up before this w/ends upgrade, not saying that anything at all will happen to your pm's but if there is anything you want to save, then this is a really good way of doing it.
