Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.

Luckily you can still see most of what he wrote at the time quoted in replies. Boy, he sure had some inside knowledge, eh?--

Well if 30% of the jobs are going to go it's a fair assumption that 30% of GDP will go too.
According the Corporation, 4% of the UK's GDP is generated in the Square Mile. Rule of thumb suggests that's 1.2% off GDP. Then there's all the nannies, barmaids, shop workers and so on that'll lose their jobs too.

I always thought he was dithering dad. That editing just goes and proves it. 'both' are trolls and both edit all their posts
I dunno if it proves he's DD as IIRC Chucky only started deleting his old posts after there was a big spat about Dithering Dad doing it. I also haven't seen him post-edit to make the original post look more sensible in the light of later developments like DD also does when he trolls.
What it does prove is that Chucky exhibits the behaviour pattern of an aggressive troll who comes onto this board specifically to get into arguments with people by writing any old provocative tosh - and then goes back later to delete what he has said.
You can't really debate with someone who says something one moment then tries to get it taken off the record later on. That just undermines the whole concept of a discussion board like the MSE forums.--

Indeed. Bad news if you are a poodle walker.

Lucy Kennedy, who runs a dog-walking business in Kensington, lost business almost immediately. A Lehman employee had phoned that morning to tell her that he no longer needed a professional to look after his poodle. “I’ve also had customers who have decided to get their dogs rehomed, to save the expense,” she said.
Even jobs that were once thought recession proof (by the person doing them) are not safe it would seem....--
