    Afternoon everyone :)

I am ignoring all the baby names talk because you are all making me BROODY and that is DANGEROUS.

I am also ignoring the holiday talk because it is Not Fair and I might be getting a bit jealous.

So I've come in to moan about the heat. It's TOOOOOO HOT. DS hates it, has trouble sleeping, is off his food - more than normal - and I just want to drown in a sea of ice cubes. The only thing that is good about the heat is that I am not pregnant because last summer I just swelled up like a balloon and stayed that way until labour, pretty much! At least I can be hot and wear shoes this time.

Keren! That is gorgeous :T really fab and the colour is the middle is just lovely :T you brave thing. I am definitely going to think about getting one of mine finished/sorted soon - it's infectious, isn't it - well I find that having one done makes me want another one, and so on and so on.....

(I did the unspeakable thing about 17 earlier, too :) )

ta ever so daphne ;) 16 has shot ahead again and is about 40 or so in front but at least the daily gap is closing.

It was ok, pain wise, just a bit like a needle slightly scratching. The only bits that made me grit my teeth a bit were the left hand side lowest bit (strange as thats the most 'fleshy bit!!!) it really felt like he was going much lower than he did !!! and then the last bit he did was the white in the middle on top of the purple re-colouring, that did hurt, but I guess it was colour on top of colour he'd done about 20 minutes previously so the skin was a bit tender. Other than that it was fine.

I do have a really nasty back/leg injury though so I have to now keep everything crossed the intense vibration hasn't inflamed the disc too much. The damaged disc is literally just below the middle of the tattoo.

Looks brill Keren :T hope your back is okay later.

I tried to be clever and do 'the deed' twice today - once from my laptop and once from my phone - but it wouldn't work from the phone for some annoying reason.

ta Snaggles - it feels fine at the moment, unfortunately the problem is a lifelong situation I manage that happened 7 years ago.

I was really ill at the time (off work for 6 months, MRI's, inpatient on a neuro ward etc) and have lots of nerve damage down my left leg from the middle of the back (I have no sensation in my leg whatsoever below the left knee) and jars/jolts/dunken falls (ahem!) can make the disc flare up a bit. At the time my left foot just 'hung' and it took a couple of years to re-train it to work almost normally.

I'll just keep popping pills to keep any inflammation down on the disc as much as possible.

When it happened, they wanted to remove the majority of the damaged disc. It was about 4 months after I'd had the original tattoo and the first thing that came into my head?? Noooo, you'll have to cut my tattoo!!! :rotfl:

I ended up refusing the op. anyway, as they said there was the chance I would end up in a wheelchair following it so it was either manage pain plus a few other things for ever or take a chance to be pain free (but still with the lack of sensation) but end up in a wheelchair.

    Pain it was!!!!

(oooh, and ta for trying to be sneaky - well, not sneaky - darn clever!!)

    Hi Toto:wave:

Congratulations on you forthcoming bundle of joy!

On the subject of names, have you considered turning to fiction for inspiration?

I am currently working my way through (again) a series of novels (historical fiction/family saga type of thing) and off the top of my head some of the names featured are as follows: Annunciata, Heloise, Flaminia, Aglaea, Hippolyta, Africa, Rosamund, Jemima.

Alternatively you could go for Puritan names:Mercy, Charity, Hope, Temperance, Fear (short for Fear-of-the-Lord), Wrastle (short for Wrastle-with-the-devil):D

I've always loved Hope and Grace for girls names and Oliver or Warwick for boys names. Milly is also an excellent choice.

Funny how name fashions change. When my sister was born in 1981 my mum wanted to call her Amy - everyone said 'uurgghh' that's so old fashioned.

Fast forward to 2001 and same sister has a little girl and calls her Amy and it doesn't feel old fashioned at all!!!
