Thank you pressies for pre-school teachers?

My daughter leaves pre-school and is off to big school in September. She is so excited and came home yesterday and asked if she could get a little present for her teachers.

Would love to get some ideas as to good pressies to buy or make?

    Hi there,

    I'm a pre-school teacher in Japan.

Every year my students mothers get together and buy a photo album. Each child is allocated a page in which they stick photos of themselves, photos of us together, stickers, drawings of me and thank you messages which they attempt to write by themselves.

They are so thoughtful - I cherish every one of them!

I'd second that, although I taught students much older, the things that meant the most to me were the letters from the students saying thank you. I still have every single one pasted into a scrap book :)

Hi, I'm going to make a cross-stitch coaster for each lady who works at the pre-school (6), include a mug, few chocs and a flannel cupcake. My son is going to help me wrap the pressies and make cards. We may make some cakes or biscuits also.

My daughter has just done a sheet of paper with some photo's of herself on it and a painted hand print added to it. I found a poem and printed it out and stuck it to the sheet of paper. Some other parents will be doing this and making it into a book for the teachers.

    Here is the poem

    http://www.dltk-kids.com/school/poems_for_teachers.htm

    When God created teachers,
    He gave us special friends
To help us understand His world
    And truly comprehend
    The beauty and the wonder
    Of everything we see,
    And become a better person
    With each discovery.
    When God created teachers,
    He gave us special guides
To show us ways in which to grow
    So we can all decide
How to live and how to do
    What's right instead of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn how to be strong.
    Why God created teachers,
In His wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make our world
    A better, wiser place.

I am a user of a t-shirt print on demand website that also does other things such as badges, mugs mousemats etc. Don't know if I should mention the company - so I'll stay safe and not say.

My daughter leaves pre-school in a few weeks and is going to "big school" after the summer and I decided to just make each teacher a mug with their name on it. It didn't cost me anything up front as I had money in my account (earned from selling stuff.) Planning to get a box of choc or something and fill each mug with them and wrap in cellophane. Should do the trick!

The cool bit is that I managed to get my daughter to write her name, which I then uploaded to the computer and cleaned it up then put it into the image for the mug!

Result - a personalised mug with my daughter's handwritten name on it and a "thank you message" too. I hope they like it.
  • My son leaves nursery this year to go into P1, he has 5 teachers/helpers and I'm in a pickle as to what to get them, I think I've decided on wine and a nice laminated poem with a pic which I will do with my son at home.

I frequent bootsales and every summer see Teachers selling all the little gifts as they don't have room for ( I don't blame them ) so i though I would get a useable gift & a keepsake that doesn't take up too much room - non of the commercialised nonsense

p.s. I'm getting the wine out of the double up offer had £30 of vouchers bought 18 bottles of Wolf Blass got £60 off ( for xmas, birthday & teacher presents ) monly cost an extra £18 bargain

Love the poems posted so far look forward to more original fresh ideas Thanks for everyone input so far:T

When my dd left preschool, we made some hama bead frames which I then sewed together with clear nylon thread and slipped in a pic of dd;we then made up small boxes enough for two choc muffins each. They all loved these.

we've bought wooden craft boxes off ebay for 2.50 each and some bits and pieces for daughter to decorate them with, and we're going to fill them with homemade tablet - also got little gift tags with photo apertures to put her pic and a thank you note into - she can't wait to get started on them!

This year at school we decided to do a collection for the teachers just a couple of pounds each (we have 4) then hopefully we will have £40 and can buy a voucher for each of them. I sometimes think they might get fed up with all the smellies, wine or flowers they get plus it's easier than trying to find something for a small amount of money per person.

My little boy finished pre-school last year and I had flowers and wine delivered for his teacher. I love having surprise flowers delivered and thought she would appreciate the same. Its a tiny school so I knew she wouldnt get too many flowers.
