Disabled computer scheme

Hi I am receiving DLA as well as other benefits relating to my disability.
I am wondering if there is any scheme maybe a government run scheme or something which includes help with the purchase of a reduced cost PC.

I am about to start studying, although not full time so this would be of benefit as the one I'm using is at the end of its days.
I'm aware of schemes which companies and their employees can opt into but I wasn't sure if there are any that help disabled people who aren't working or cannot work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It might be worth checking with the institution you're studying with as they may also be able to provide you with help (or point you in the right direction of what's available).

  • Simon - try the learing support office at your college. Son is dyslexic which also is categorised as disabled and therefore he is eligable for the disabled students grant. If he is eligable, you certainly should be. He is getting a new laptop and all the trimmings for his course starting in September.

It's worth a try, there should be something they can do to help you.
