Old Family Recipe 17th Mar 08 at 12:59 PM
i dont know if any one can use this but i discovered this recipe among some sewing items by grandad gave me.the recipe belonged to my late nannar.i have made four in the last few days to fill my 4 kids and husband its really filling and v.easy to make.

    nannar margs sultana loaf
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup sultanas
    1 cup of milk
    1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1/4 lb butter
    1 beaten egg
    2 cups self raising flour

put marg sugar sultanas and milk in pan bring to boil, cool then add tartar, egg and flour pour into lined loaf tin cook on 160 for half hour then 150 for 1 hour.
may take less time to cook i had to convert this to my oven temps from the old reg settings on the recipe so you will have to see how that works for you,but its really nice when its cooled down.
