Free Completely Legal Music To Download

Downloading music on the net is a big thing. Personally, I think that the big music companies are overcharging us so I don't use them. There are thousands of MP3s out there for free if you know where to look. You may not find the latest chart releases, but there is such a large choice for free out there it will be possible to find something to your taste. All of the following sites are completely legal and are not anything to do with P2P or anything like that.

http://www.download.com I've been using this site for years now, and only just discovered they offer 1000s of free tracks to download. Click the music button on the left.

http://www.peoplesound.com/ Tens of thousands of free downloads available on this site.

http://efolkmusic.org/ As the site name suggests. Loads of folk music on this site for free.

If you are interested in a particular artist/band. It is also worth having a look at their fan site. Sometimes the band/artist will offer one or two tracks for free download.

Some of these sites came to my attention after reading an article in a computer mag about free legal music downloads. If you are in any doubt to the legality of any of them. Have a look round the site. Each site should have an FAQs or about us section that will explain how they offer the music for free.

There are certainly no doubts at all in my mind that all of the sites are completely legit.

I'm sorry acid. I posted this thread as a completely legal way of downloading music. All the sites I posted offer music for free legally.

You've posted two methods of filesharing, which is against the rules on this site.

Most of us know where to get things illegal but don't share this information as it's against the rules. There always one that wants to spoil the thread because this thread is about legal downloading of music nothing more. Thanks to Rex for thread.

does anyone know if the sites you have to pay to use are legal or not as dont mind paying if its all above board.
