what is the situation if you live partly abroad with regard to child tax credits and working tax credits.I imagine the childcare element if the child is no longer in UK childcare this will change the situation but what about the rest. we are looking at spending time in france.

you must advise of a change of circumstances if you are going to leave UK permanently or for a period of 8 weeks. This is extended to 12 weeks if you are going abroad because of illness or because someone has died. Of course you cannot claim WTC at all unless you are working .When you supply end of year information you must include all income received - including income from abroad. If you will have no income in france you will not meet the qualifying conditions for WTC. The CTC will be apportioned accordingly. If you were considering spending a lot of time in france you should contact HMRC for advice. Do you really think its OK to claim UK benefits anyway when you leave the UK ?????I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes
