As it is our first baby(two weeks today )We was wondering where to take her on holiday for the first time this summer(within a suitable budget).I have read up what centreparcs and haven have to offer.I was just wondering what other peoples thoughts and experiences are on this.
Any suggestions would be very grateful.:p

I took my DS to Haven in Mablethorpe in September, it was a Sun Holiday (Cheap), we stayed in a Caravan and did pay to upgrade it. Mainly so it had a microwave so I could sterlise his bottles, the upgrade gave us a bigger Caravan, big enough to have the travel cot in the double bedroom with plenty of room for us to walk round the room without climing over anything.
So I go of the point, my LO was 3 months old at the time and we were fine with him. An added bonus was that we went out of school holidays so it was reasonably quiet, every pub/restraunt was happy to help and accomadate the baby. In one restruant particular I didn't need to look after the baby at all the wonderful staff entertained him for the whole evening, he was in his pram by us but as he was goregous (as all babies are to there parents) they were always coming to talk to him and pick him up, with our permission. and no before someone says it I don't let random strangers hold him I am very particular about that and have no many occassions said no to family members when I haven't felt he is safe. Ignore me I am rambling!!0

If you thinking of going abroad, Menorca is only a 2 hour flight away & is fantastic for children.
Personally I would recommend booking independently so that you can include a washing machine, cot etc, every home comfort that you can think of.Comping from May 2012
Thank you to all that post & contribute, I think you are wonderful, I could not achieve without your help 0 0

I would highly recommend centerparcs, but do check for discount codes as there are plenty on here for free.... and you can save a small fortune depending on when you go.
I was looking at going to Mablethorpe Golden Sands, but have heard some bad reviews of it? Has anyone else been? Has it been upgraded recently and is it great for kids??
Have a lovely holiday wherever you go, hope the sun shines on you all xThank you!!:j0

            HI
If you're happy to stay in the UK I would definitely recommend a Haven holiday. We went to the Lakeland in the Lake District with my son when he was 8 months old and it was great as we could load up the car with everything we needed without having to worry about the amount of luggage we took! We booked their highest standard accommodation so it was fully heated and we had a microwave, but it was still very reasonably priced - we just booked direct through the website when they had an offer in. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again last year, and have booked to go this year again too!
We did try taking my son abroad when he was about 14 months - we chose a family resort in Ibiza as we though the flight wouldn't be too bad. The flight was okay and the hotel/resort were lovely, but it was very difficult managing without a luggage allowance for a baby. We were there for a week and we all came down with a stomach bug, so it was very difficult trying to cope with the heat and an unwell baby in a foreign country. I know the same thing could happen anywhere, but I think in this country you're never too far from a Boots or reliable GP, and you can always come home at any time if you need to!
 Hope this helps!0
