HSBC advance switch - did not provide debit card number

Hi, I switched my old Nationwide FlexDirect account to HSBC and stupidly said "no" when asked whether I have a debit card for the old account, just because I didn't have the debit card on me. (I don't use it). Do I need to give HSBC the Nationwide debit card information for it to be considered a full switch? There are no payments set up on the Nationwide debit card, although there are a few SOs and direct debits on the actual account. Thanks. C
PS. The outcome of the application was "we need to do a few more routine checks" and we will get back to you. I was offered £3500 overdraft limit on application, but I only applied for £250, not sure if that matters at all. Hope it does get approved.

the debit card number is just so your old bank knows it is really you initiating the switch - won't affect any switching bonus0

Thanks, so do I need to provide it to HSBC then, for the full switch to go through?0

Nationwide could refuse the switch if you do have a debit card and have told HSBC that you don't. It did happen to me when I was switching out a Tesco account, Tesco refused the switch as I'd done the same.0

call hsbc and ask to speak to the swiitching team and ask if the switch is going through
or check your new hsbc account and see if the payees have been moved across from your old account - if so, the switch is underway0 -
I would phone HSBC, say you now realise you have a debit card with Nationwide, but as you never use it you had forgotten about it! then give them the details.
I had a switched delayed because I had a Tesco debit card which I hadn't actually activated! Minutes after it was activated the switch startedBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
