Possibly.
Liability for the High Income Child Benefit Charge isn't based on income though.
It's based on adjusted net income.
Google it for some reading. Or provide more info here.0 -
Hi
Please can you help?
I earn over £60k/annum and my wife and I still receive child benefits. I completed a tax form last year highlighting this, but have not heard anything? Also, I think I want to opt out of receiving the benefit, Joe do I go about this please? Finally, what happens if I’ve received child benefits, do I have to pay it all back at once? Thanks in advance for any help...0 -
See if information here helps https://www.gov.uk/child-benefit-tax-chargeInformation I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

If the child is resident at your address, then yes, you are. Another stupid rules that makes resident step-parents more financially responsible for a child than the actual non-resident parent.Hell do I need to pay High Income Child Benefit Charge if my partner is claming child benefits for a child that isnt mine, if.im.earning over 50k0
