Savings Weakness?

Do any of you have a "blindspot" when it comes to saving?
Mine is shirts/T-shirts.
I know I overspend by buying favourite brands when non-branded shirts are equally comfortable and equally high quality. I know I'm paying for a brand.
Why? I don't do it with jeans or any other clothing items!
And before any of you ask, I'm not some young teenager out to impress his mates . . . I'm an old man whose mates don't even notice!

Anyone else have a "blindspot"?

Provided you can afford it and it makes you feel good then I wouldn't worry about it provided you're only buying them when you actually need a shirt.

I'm similar with some cosmetic brands. I know that some cheap ones would do the same job but the feeling of pampering myself is great.:D
  • Irregular choice shoes, typically I only buy in the sale (and leave my Husband to but mefull price ones). But, I have been known to sit thinking I'm so skint and then buy a pair of shoes for £75 - to clarify I'm not proper skint and would not go into debt for them.

Jewellery. I love it and can never have enough! It’s my blind spot at the moment. Don’t even wear it much but I love having it and looking at it!
  • If you like buying a certain brand and you can can afford it then I wouldn't worry - you like what you like! If it makes you happy wearing it then carry on buying them!

    Same me.
I also have hobbies that require accumulation. I collect books, good stylish planners, pens.
Next up, food. Spend about $600 a month on food between restaurants and groceries.

Definitely takeaways, not that I get them often, but every so often I feel the urge and then give in to my cravings and spend £30 on Dominos pizza :rotfl: Always feel guilty after, not least because I stuff myself full but also the money I could have saved by warming up a 70p Aldi frozen pizza in the oven!
