Recording on JVC LT-39C790 39" Smart LED TV

Hi i have just purchased a JVC LT-39C790 39" Smart LED TV how do i record programmes on it

  You can't record onto it!
  
  But as its 'Smart' you can stream progs thru wifi. eg BBC iplayer etc
  
  If you need to record you need to connect suitable equipment

  Plug a USB stick or USB hard disk into the USB slot. This will enable the record functionality which normally would be part of the TV guide.
